Great Base for Exploring Black Hills
This VRBO was easy to find, clean and well-maintained. All the tableware we needed was on hand plus cooking utensils. The huge electric griddle quickly cooked pancakes for our large family. The lovely porch and large lawn kept us outside until dark. Adults liked to gather around the gas fire-pit on the porch. We saw many more deer than people along the Mickelson Trail which borders the property.
Even though a highway passes not far from the back of the house, we rarely noticed any noise while inside the house.
This was the second visit for our kids and their family, and I suspect we'll be booking again in a year or two.
Clean, cozy, homey!
Was very nice! Dawn, thanks for checking in to make sure every thing was OK!

Great house - great yard space
We had two families with 10 total people, kids from 2.5-11. The kids loved the bunk beds and especially loved playing in the yard. It is right off the highway but set down far enough we were not worried. The kitchen was great size and had anything we needed. There was great wifi, since we didn't have cell phone reception, and cable TV. The house was decorated perfect for the area, and was neat and clean and updated. We loved it and it was a great location for Rushmore, Custer State Park, & Jewel Caves. I would recommend this place to anyone going to the area. The hosts called as soon as we arrived and were available if we needed anything which we did not. Thanks for providing such a great place to stay! We also loved staying in Custer because it had a good size grocery store so we could pick up some things we forgot.
Rural House that offered character and relaxation!!!
Our group spent three beautiful days at this house and enjoyed every minute of the time we had here. The yard was fantastic for the kids with grass and room to play. The horses next door were a real hit. We used the grill and the fire ring on the beautiful patio and enjoyed eating a meal out there too. The house was clean and well stocked plus we had enough room for all of us - the bunk beds were a favorite of the kids. We had plenty of room in the kitchen for several of us to work preparing meals. The decorations were woodsy and cute -- especially the duck toilet paper holder. We especially appreciated the garage on the last night when the weather turned to rain and then snow. We would recommend this rental to Family and Friends.
Wonderful family time
Our family loved staying together here. The mickelson trail was wonderful, the beautiful horses and location to everything. All the comforts of home. Thank you!
