What makes this House unique
This home was built by hand by the owners. Every beam was cut by the owner in SoCal, numbered (some numbers are still visible), and transported to Lake Tahoe by truck. Once there, the home was assembled on site. Once the home was complete, the owner began making all of the furniture and cabinetry. Some of the original furniture has been replaced, but we as a family have done our best to preserve the original furniture as Opa would have wanted.

Great views. Plenty of room
The owners description and previous tennant descriptions of the home are accurate. We rented for a ski week in March with 8 adults. We had plenty of room to spread out. The view of Mt. Tallac is spectacular. The neighborhood is quiet. We hardly saw anyone during our stay. The rooms, bedding and furnishings are exactly as described. With a large group it was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked BUT some of the equipment wasn't in very good shape and needs replacement (mainly pots and pans that were burned or scratched and not safe to use). But, like I said, there was plenty of stuff so we made it work. All in all this place was exactly what we expected (given that it was cheaper than some places more conveniently located). Due to the location this place would be spectacular for a summer rental. If returning to Tahoe to ski I would probably pay more for a place more convenient to the ski shuttle.
It's was perfect. We loved the huge dining table and the loft was perfect for the kids. There was an abundance of pillows and blankets, always a plus on cold winter nights. Wish we planned to stay longer. Thank you.
Excellent place for making memories
We enjoyed staying in the cabin. It had everything we need and Gertraude was very responsive to our questions prior to our arrival. Will definitely stay here again.
Awesome house! Nice and big with plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably.
Beautiful home with a great view. Looking forward to a summer trip!
Great Tahoe rental!
Our group of 12 thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. The house is well kept and the rooms were clean and nicely furnished. The pictures on the website don't do the home justice. It's older, true, and the kitchen is very dated, but it's well equipped and spacious. The pool table and hot tub are nice extras. From reading previous reviews, we were mindful of noise while some of our group enjoyed the hot tub but we encountered no problems with neighbors. We were there over New Years and there were some fireworks and noisemakers outside from other homes nearby. If you're going during cold weather and want to have a fire in the fireplace, bring firewood. I would rent this home again for sure!
Family fun vacay!!
House was perfect for our family. Plenty of space, all amenities we needed to cook and make meals. So much fun!!
This large waterfront chalet style, mortise and tenon home in the Tahoe Keys has a pool table and it's own private hot tub on the lower deck. With it's own private boat dock, water access is as easy as walking out the back door. Stand up paddle board and kayak rentals are available nearby. Just drop in from your boat dock and paddle through the keys and out to the lake. Our kids regularly fish right off the boat dock. The house is about ½ mile away from The Wilderness Bike Trail head. Bike rentals are available there. It's a great ride through the forest to Camp Richardson, where you can stop for some of the best ice cream around, get lunch, or have a day at the beach. Just passed Camp Richardson is the Taylor Creek Preserve. There they have guided nature hikes through some of the most beautiful untouched areas of South Lake Tahoe. As an added bonus, there's also Stream Cutout Profile Chamber where you can observe the local underwater wildlife in their habitat. Tahoe Keys Property Owner's Association amenities include the use of 7 tennis courts, 2 pools and 2 hot tubs (indoor and outdoor).
