About the property

Sleeps 8 Just Steps From The Lake And Mountain Views

This rustic former fishing camp has this three bedrooms sharing one bathroom plus two out buildings and is perfect for a family vacation or just a romantic lakeside getaway. The main house has a master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms with bunkbeds. The cozy living room with fireplace opens to a screen porch overlooking the lake. One of the two outbuildings is a one room bedroom in the woods for adventuresome youngsters and the other is a recently redone boathouse that has a futon and wonderful views of the lake and mountains.

The water in the house comes from the lake so bottled water is used for drinking.

The house comes with a dock and a canoe and there are kayaks, motor boats and sail boats available to rent at the local marina.

About Tricia Pinkard

Bob came to New Hampshire as a boy and attended camp not far from Squam Lake. He has returned almost every summer since. Tricia is originally from North Carolina, but calls New Hampshire her spiritual home. She loves the simple living, hiking and the call of the loons on Squam. But our lab, Midnight, may enjoy Squam more than both of us put together.

Tricia Pinkard purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Tricia Pinkard chose Lake Winona

We bought this house to protect the simple way of life that is the hallmark of Squam Lake. It is all about the the woods, the lake and the wildlife here and we wanted to have a house that brought the outside in. We love to share this cabin with our guests and see the rejuvenation and renewal that happens here.

What makes this cabin unique

What we love about our house is that it is out the peninsula, 2.5 miles from the main road. There are a few houses nearby but there is a lot of conservation land and wildlife around us. We also wanted a west facing dock to view the sunsets and feel the afternoon warmth.

The cabin is located near the end of a dirt road and surrounded by conservation areas. There are walking and hiking trails close by and the lake offers abundant recreational opportunities right from your own dock.

Five minutes away in Center Harbor is Heath's, an excellent grocery store, and Moulton Farms where you can buy locally grown produce, fresh seafood and pies to die for is a few minutes farther away.

Quintessential Squam

  • 5 of 5

Last year had been our first year at this cottage and I can't say enough about the property and the owner. Trish is so kind and the property is just as they describe...."simple". I'd also describe it as wonderful. Having grown up on this lake, I'll tell you this is the quintessential Squam lake house with a lovely little boathouse getaway (that we particularly enjoyed).
