Would Rent Here Again in a Heartbeat!
This is a lovely house in a great neighborhood. 3 couples stayed here, comfortably. We were able to cook a meal for the 6 of us plus 5 other guests. It was a sweltering weekend but the AC kept us comfortable. Everything in the house worked as it should. We had all of the comforts of home.
Thanks for your kind words! It was a pleasure hosting you and your friends! I'd love the opportunity to host any future stays in Newburyport!
We were very comfortable staying here. The house was clean and spacious for a family of 4. We loved having the option to relax on the front porch outside. The house was a short drive to the main area of Newburyport and we enjoyed a great beach day at Plum Island (Jill includes a free beach pass). Thanks for a great stay! There's a lot to do in the area and we would recommend!
First floor bedroom & full bath, plus two more bedrooms & bath upstairs was a lucky find.
This property is wonderful. It is vintage so you can't expect a modern sterile kind of hotel room but instead it is absolutely charming with a lot of space.
By choice we always entered thru the back room [next to where our car was pulled up on the driveway] which has double glass doors opening right into the kitchen. The kitchen is open concept to the large dining area and on into the living room also through open double glass doors. It makes it seem very open. The kitchen had a huge array of pots and pans and utensils and gas range for easy cooking if wanted. It has a tea kettle, a coffee pot, a microwave, a great toaster, and a fridge with internal ice maker [and even an ice pack in the freezer]. We have never seen a counter top made of material that looked like dark gray soft slate so we just assume it is a local product. It matched the décor. We easily seated 8 people for lunch and could have seated more. The house is charming with its fireplaces , its front porch with seating area shaded by a large tree, and a private outdoor area for sitting off the back room. The living room has a very comfy plush-style sofa and loveseat. There are some rocking chairs and a large screen TV and games and magazines and books.. [We came to love those glass doors as we closed off the living room to lively discussions and others got to chat around the dining room table.]
You can tell it has been furnished and decorated and kept updated with love and attention to detail. There were soft, plush bath towels, soap, nite-lights, extra TP and paper towels when we arrived.
Jill the owner is attentive in all ways. She contacted us early on to see if we needed anything or had any questions. It was easy to connect to the internet and even with my old computer I had a reasonably fast refresh time.
We came to this area to attend the festivities and wedding of my niece. We were here June 12-18th. I was convinced by other reviews that the tiny hospital nearby was not a problem and it wasn't. It's a very tiny facility just over 100 beds. We never once heard a siren. The entrance must be via other routes & not up Arlington.
The house is on a very quiet street off the main road, has its own parking, and has plentiful street parking. It's within walking distance of the marinas and restaurants on Water Street and the main square and shops. [My brother said it took about 20 minutes at his easy pace.]
This property was what we looked for!
Great House in Newburyport
Wonderful place to stay, close to downtown, also close parks for hiking, 5 mins to groceries, property was as described, clean, well kept, would stay here again!
Even better in the winter!
We stayed in this wonderful house this past summer and loved it. But it was even better last week when it was cold outside. The soaking tub in the bathroom was amazing and the two gas fireplaces made it very cozy. The beds are super comfortable with cozy soft blankets. Grocery shopping is 3 minutes away, as is town. It's a great location and a really comfortable house. The big flat screen TV offers lots of options, but I have to admit that we struggled to figure everything out. A cheat sheet would be helpful.
Comfortable, welcoming and well maintained
Loved the two gas fireplaces and the huge front porch. The home is stocked with all that anyone would need to enjoy a special stay in Newburyport.
