5Br Luxury Ski-in/Out Beaver Creek/Bachelor Gulch Home, Beside W/Access To Ritz!
average rating of 4.8333335 based on 6 reviews

Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful home, but we would suggest some caveats to the description.

  • 4 of 5

Let me preface the constructive feedback below with the fact that this is a beautiful home, and that it is very convenient to many amenities at Beaver Creek. Our 2 children loved the bunk room with its own tv and adjacent bath (it had beds for 6 including two trundles). The living area and kitchen aren't huge, but they were more than adequate. Only 1 bedroom was on the living level, so there was good separation. The 2 car garage includes a ski storage area that was ideal including ski/board racks and boot storage (you probably wouldn't want to utilize both garage spaces for cars if you want to utilize the ski storage area for prep, but there are two spots in drive as well). The shuttle service worked very well, 15 minutes at most from call to pick up. A car is really extraneous unless you want to travel to surrounding area including Vail.

The above notwithstanding, I would suggest that the ski in/out description is a liberal definition. The ski access is 2 blocks away up/down two flights of stairs to a steep blue run, or 3 blocks away to an easy green. Some of the other reviews comment on this appropriately, but one was submitted after our booking. We had a mixed group ranging from new skiers to advanced children (7&8) and experts. The location required shuttle use for the adult new skiers to bc village for ski school; the walk was difficult for the advanced kids in ski boots; but it was manageable for experienced adults. I think these concerns could be adequately addressed through a better description, but we have stayed at many ski properties (admittedly not in BC), and this was the most liberal use of ski in/out...

Another issue with the description of location is the proximity to the Ritz and the access to the amenities. While there is a map in included in the pictures, it doesn't convey the scale appropriately. This unit is not next to the Ritz. It is a 15-20 minute walk on a street without sidewalks to the Ritz. It is very easy to ski from the afore mentioned ski in/out access point to the Bach Gulch lift or Ritz, but for utilization of the amenities, some forethought needs to be utilized. For the hot tub and pool, do you wear your suit on shuttle or change in a bathroom at Ritz? You need a Ritz key to access spa locker facilities according to staff, so not really an option.

We did not receive the mid-week cleaning, but it was not an issue. Overall, it was a great home, but I would suggest changes to description.

Fantastic house in great location and lots of amenities

  • 5 of 5

not quite ski-in-ski-out, but close if you can take the walk up two flights of stairs. Close to the Ritz-Carlton with the most expensive burger on earth, but live music and heated pool and hot tubs, good bar food etc.

The house itself was perfectly located for the view of the Ritz and the ski slopes. Well stocked with all you need, cleaned mid-week, garage and place to store skis and boots, 5 great rooms, all with ensuites. Small gym for those that want to supplement the day's activities with a little workout.

We will be back!

Amazing location, great amenities, spacious bedrooms, well apportioned

  • 5 of 5

On a scale of 1-10 for my overall satisfaction of the property and experience, I would give it a 9. The "Pros" are numerous. No property is perfect but this one came pretty close. Aside from a couple small setbacks, which the owner Angela graciously rectified, the property delivered on all fronts and Ill most certainly be using this property again in the future. We were a group of 7 adults and this suited us perfectly. Property was as described (and then some).

Thanks to Angela for taking care of us.

Below I've honestly and matter-of-factly listed the few Cons and the numerous Pros of my experience.

Pros: (They are numerous and too many to fully list here)

-Located 500 feet up the hill from the Ritz; free shuttle is available and is very prompt and makes for a fast transition back and forth

-Mtn bike trails, hiking, pool/spa are all literally minutes away and provide lots of activities for all your guests

-Full access to Ritz pool, spa, facilities: Look photos up online; enough said. You won't get FREE access these amenities at most other VRBO rentals

-Aside from staying in a room at the Ritz, you are essentially staying at the hotel; you have full access to the property, restaurants, activites, etc. This home is a no brainer if you don't care to be located directly on prop

-Sizable bedrooms and bathrooms that are well kept and clean

-Updated modern decor (minus the Xmas decorations) creates a warm, luxurious, relaxing environment; perfect for relaxing, cooking dinner, etc.

-Kitchen was small but had ample supplies: we had a personal chef cook dinner for 2 nights and most everything he needed in terms of kitchen utensiles, pots, pans, dishes, trays, etc, was already provided

-Home was well stocked with dishes, utensils, cooking accessories, toiletries (Even had Aveda shampoo/conditioner/lotions in all bathrooms), etc

-Access to in house washer/dryer

-Overall a very well maintained, well cleaned, and amenities filled home. Exactly what you would expect for a $3M+ Luxury rental home next to a Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek

Cons: (To the owners credit, these were all rectified after the fact)

-BBQ grill ran out of propane after 10 minutes

-Property manager was not able to provide a solution in a timely manner; had to "pause" cooking dinner for 30 minutes to run and refill ourselves

-Back patio and Front door porch was not hosed down/cleaned/free of dirt; had to spend 15 mins wiping down tables, cleaning seat cushions, washing BBQ grill, etc

Beautiful property, not literally ski in/out

  • 5 of 5

We used this beautiful unit for a ski vacation we enjoyed with two other families (6 adults + 5 kids). There was plenty of room for everyone. Finishes throughout are high quality. The common room is large and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need and there is a gas grill on the back deck as well. We enjoyed several home cooked meals together, relaxing at home rather than going out. Owners even have apple TV so you can show your days pictures on the living room TV!

Two quibbles. First, the upper bunks in the bunk room have a sloping roof line intruding that makes it kind of tight. My 15 year old daughter thought it was too confining to sleep up there, but if you have small kids they might not mind. Also, access to the slopes is up some steps and along/across the road -- maybe 75-100 yds in total --- where you can step onto the Rouglock trail and ski to the Bachelor Gulch chair. Some might not consider this ski in/out, although we found it acceptable.

Unbelieveably gorgeous home for a wonderful Christmas holiday!

  • 5 of 5

My family, brother's family and parents were fortunate enough to call this fantastic home ours for the holidays. We were the first guests, as it had apparently just come on the rental market after undergoing a major top to bottom remodel, and it shows. The home is amazing, the décor was first class, and the set up and location can't be beat. We have stayed at the Ritz in the past, but wanted a bit more room and living space, but still wanted to be near enough to all of the action, and the location of this townhome was perfect. We were able to ski and (walk &) ski out of the unit with ease...but on a few of the colder days, the kids didn't want to make the traverse so we called the shuttle and it was there within minutes. What a great service! There is a two car garage that has incredible custom, built-in ski storage (even with cubbies with plugs for all of the heated gear). This is one of the nicest private properties we have ever had the opportunity to stay in, has obviously been outfitted by owners with excellent taste, and we are already planning our next trip back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
