Beautiful cottage and garden in a quiet lovely town

  • 5 of 5

Dear Lorrie, thank you for sharing your cottage with us, we had a wonderful week. The cottage was charming and beautifully furnished and supplied. The garden was splendid and no matter how hot it was, being under the vine-covered pergola with the lovely sea breeze kept us very comfortable.

Walking around town reminded us of Edgartown but without the hassle of getting there or the crowds of the Cape in the summer. Your neighbors were wonderfully friendly as was everyone in Mattapoisett.

Perfect cottage in the village

  • 5 of 5

We loved our two week stay in this seaside cottage. Full of New England charm, exceptionally well appointed-- everything we needed was there. The house is clean and the beds are very comfortable. Beautiful back deck and patio. Lunch and dinner under the pergola were magical. Walk to beach, town, wharf, restaurants, etc. The owner was so hospitable making sure everything was to our liking. She was readily available by phone for any questions we might have. We will definitely return to this special spot.

Awesome stay!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at this cottage just steps from the water. The accommodations were excellent, furnished with everything we need and owner could not have been anymore helpful. I enjoyed the town and spent hours walking the neighborhood admiring the quaintness of the community. Easy to navigator to other towns close by, great restaurants, and a lot of history here. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Enchanted Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this cottage for a week in July 2014. The location is excellent, with views of the harbor from the master bedroom and also from the back yard, which is large, lush and beautiful. The kitchen is updated and has everything one could need. Very nice rear porch and dining table beneath a vine-covered pergola. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable, and linens are high quality. Lovely sea breezes are a big plus. The house was very clean and just perfect for two people; there is a second bedroom that we never used (our luggage stayed there...). Because it is a historic house (which is certainly one of its charms) the stairway to the second floor is narrow and the landing at the top is small, so if traveling with young children, I would bring a gate to temporarily install at the top of the stairs.

It is a one-minute stroll from the cottage to the waterfront, and further exploring from there is wonderful. Great walking and biking. Mattapoisett is a lovely, unspoiled town and there is much to do and see in the area.

The owner is delightful, helpful and anxious to please her guests.

I would definitely recommend this house - it's a gem.
