Comfortable and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

The unit is large and updated with all the comforts of home! It has central air conditioning and a large washer and drier. If I stayed there again I would rent the upstairs unit for the view of the ocean over the seawall but the view of Pigeon Cove is enjoyable from the downstairs unit. I found the unit to be to far from Bearskin Neck in downtown Rockport to walk to on a daily basis and/or to carry supplies, but it is a short drive.

Owner's Response: Jeff, Thanks for your terrific review. The second floor rents for 25 percent more than the first floor, hence, if someone's budget can accommodate this, I also recommend the second floor. Keep in mind, if climbing stairs is an issue for elderly or young ones, best to stay on the first floor. Thanks for staying with us! M

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

The house is immaculate. Very modern with 2 huge bedrooms and bathrooms plus another room with a daybed. The owners have considered every detail including linens, kitchen items, deck, beach-chairs, and local recommendations. We stayed on the ground floor and a lovely group of ladies (we didn't know) stayed on the 2nd floor. You can definitely hear each other between floors, but it wasn't a big deal for us. The location is pretty central to Rockport. If you like to walk, Bearskin Neck (the center) is about a mile and a half from the house. The coast of Rockport is all large rocks and this house is located at the breakwater. So, that means that the first floor condo has only a view of a large rock wall. It's a short walk to see an ocean view. The 2nd floor condo I think has a clear view of the water. The location is near some amazing spots: Annisquam, Halibut Point State Park and also Gloucester. The owners were very kind to allow us to bring our dog and he was very happy with the yard, parks close by and the amazing Gloucester dog park. All in all, we highly recommend this property. It's a beautiful place to stay and felt like a home away from home.

Beautiful, incredibly clean property in a quiet, private setting with a spectacular view!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We emailed Maureen at 10:02 pm on the Saturday night we arrived in Rockport. We were in quite a panic since our original house we booked was an extreme disappointment in regards to the cleanliness and we were not going to be staying there. Maureen emailed me back at 10:05pm and met me at the Breakwater property 20 minutes later. These guys saved our vacation. She shows up with clean towels, sheets, and cleaning supplies and starts to clean the house so we can stay the night since the previous tenants just left earlier that day. This is customer service. The pictures of the home speaks for itself. The level of care and concern these guys had for our vacation and my families comfort is something that you can not see in a photo. We found our vacation rental for many years to come with Maureen and Breakwater Ave.

This home has everything you would need, it is truly a home away from home. Kitchen supplies, beach chairs, grill, washer/dryer, kayak. Bedrooms are very large and kitchen and bathrooms are very recently updated. The location is extremely private and quiet. The beakwater is directly in front of the home and with only a short walk in either direction you can walk down the rocks and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean. I would highly recommend this property or any other property that Maureen owns. Thank you again for all you did for us last week, we look forward to seeing you again next year!!!

Enjoyed our stay

  • 5 of 5

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean, recently upgraded and provide the necessary amenities to complement our visit. The location is remote (overlooking an active fishing harbor) with great walking paths along the ocean. While the views from the patio on the first floor of the condo are pleasant, we would recommend renting the entire building or the top floor if you’re looking for a full view of the ocean. The property owners are great to work with and we recommend this property if you’re looking for a quiet fishing village retreat.

A great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of three stayed on the first floor the home. The rooms were spacious, clean and we had a nice view of the active fishing village. The 2 main bedrooms have king beds and the 2 full bathrooms were nice. The main living area has many windows so you have a nice view. The kitchen appliances are modern and overall home decor is lovely. This area has many nice restaurants, shops, beaches and trails to hike. The owners were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and local attractions.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with an adult daughter and her children loved this vacation home. When we drove up, the children exclaimed at the beauty of the house and throughout our stay they remarked on the beautiful views. Inside was spacious, bright, and airy. The house is also air-conditioned, which we didn't really need. Importantly, Maureen and Frank are great to work with. They were both patient, kind, and very accommodating people. Rockport itself is beautiful! Halibut State Park is close by. We really enjoyed our stay, which was relaxing and quiet. The children agreed that we made good memories at the Rockport house.
