Adults Only Please. Wailea Ekahi 25 C is a remodeled condominium located in Wailea on beautiful Keawakapu Beach. From our doorstep it is a three minute walk through beautifully kept grounds to the beach where you can relax, walk the soft white sand for miles or snorkel with turtles on the reef just off our beach.
Steps from our condo is a relaxing "quiet" pool (one of 4 in the Ekahi village). A short 3 minute stroll will take you down a manicured tropical green belt to the "main" pool located right on the beach. This beachfront pool comes complete with a large covered pavilion (for those looking for a nice shady area) and is a hub for sunset watching and cocktail hour.
Wailea Ekahi 25C has been completely updated with a clean spa-like feel, mahogany cabinetry in the living room and ceramic tile throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom offers a separate toilet room with a large walk-in shower. There is a spacious changing room with vanity to allow multiple people the opportunity to spruce up after a day in the sun. Our condo provides 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler. Inside is a fully stocked kitchen, an ironing board, and a hair dryer. Please see the amenities section below for specifics. Parking is located a few steps from our front door. Upon arrival you must visit the office to register your car for a parking pass. Our condo has a garden view and is located on the ground level (no stairs to navigate).
In close proximity are 3 championship golf courses, a tennis center, The Shops at Wailea (an upscale outdoor mall) and excellent dining at any of the 6 five-star resorts located near by. We also border Kihei, which offers a smorgasboard of affordable shopping and dining to suit any budget.
Wailea Ekahi 25C allows visitors a comfortable island setting while still providing all the amenities of home. You will find the easy going pace and the aloha spirit of the islands easy to get used to.
We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property. It is 5 minutes walk from pristine beach. It has peaceful surroundings.
Our first trip to Hawaii, and we will definitely be back to Maui. Always a learning experience with VRBO descriptions. Condo was close to description, some amenities were not included, like a cooler w a handle and no remote control for bedroom tv. Beach chairs, there were only 2, and one was so uncomfortable, we didn't use. Internet was a nice touch, but signal was only strong enough in the kitchen. Late check out is no longer available, so plan ahead. Kitchen was well stocked with gadgets, the NINJA blender was great. Bed in bedroom was big and comfortable, the murphy bed was useful, but quite small for two adults.
The grounds were very nice, and the main pool area was good for gathering with friends. Beach was also nice. Location was quite good for walks and close to stores and restaurants. Long walk to beach was expected and good for exercise. Great condo to consider for a longer vacation.
WOW, what a great trip. My husband and I spent 8 days here on our honeymoon. The complex the condo is situated in is very private! The complex has two pools, we used the main one due to its beautiful view of the ocean! The location of this condo is perfect, my husband and I did tons of day trips to Hana, West Maui, and Upcountry; this southern Maui location made everything a quick drive away. The condo comes equip with everything we needed, towels, soap, cooking utensils, coffee maker, and access to a washer/dryer, which is great for longer stays. We definitely would come back and stay again.
The location of the condo is great! Easy beach access to an incredible beach making going to the beach effortless. The grounds are beautiful with tons of plant life and citrus plants all over the property. Stores and restaurants are in walking distance making the stay easy. The grocery store (Island Gourmet Market) has good product and is very reasonably priced for the island. The condo's furniture has been recently updated and the bed is very comfortable. Beach equipment is provided in the condo. Everything was so easy to access that we didn't have any needs or concerns while staying here. I was worried that while staying here that I would only be able to find expensive luxury hotel restaurants, but there a some great jems in the area (Monkey Pod and The Pint & Cork). Plus The Shops at Wailea have Hawaiian themed event that are free. Easy drive or walk down to Kihei to do exploring.
We stayed for 10 days at the condo and found it to be the perfect spot. We learned before we arrived that the condo was renovated and that we'd be the first ones to stay in it.
When we arrived it didn't look like the pictures--but that wasn't a bad thing. Owners need to update pictures of condo in ad. The Hawaiian motif is gone as they renovated it in a contemporary style--blue walls, modern furniture throughout, etc. There was literally nothing on the walls as I suppose they hadn't yet decided on wall art for the new look of their condo. That aside, it was perfect for me and my husband as we spent very little time at the condo and used it more as a base to go off and explore. When we were home we discovered a few bugs, which we chalked up to island living--a ridiculously long centipede (had to be at least 3-4 inches long!), a few cockroaches and teeny tiny little ants.
We spent numerous hours at the pool--the one closest to the beach (there's three on property) and met some wonderful people! The biggest pool closest to the beach was a bit of a trek. It's fine to go down to the pool but to come home it's all up hill.
As others mentioned, the condo is situated along the road which really wasn't an issue at all and rarely would we hear traffic noise.
Owners left washing machine pods and dishwasher pods for our use, which totally came in handy throughout our stay. Kitchen is pretty well stocked in the form of kitchen gadgets, utensils and there's a few spices to use as well.
We were grateful to find beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use.
All in all, we were very happy with the condo. We made great memories, slept great on the comfy bed and never once turned on any of the TVs as we were just too exhausted at the end of each evening.
We had a relaxing and memorable time in Wailea. The place we rented (Ekahi 25c) exceeded our expectations, providing both comfort and convenience at reasonable cost. The beds were bigger and more comfortable than most we encounter at hotels. The place was clean when we arrived and easy to keep clean. The air conditioning and overhead fans provided welcome relief from afternoon and evening temperatures and humidity, though the weather was near-perfect most mornings near the water. There were short sprinkles some afternoons and one day (out of 8) of light rain, but we escaped potentially more serious effects from the two hurricanes which passed by a few days before our stay. The kitchen was well equipped though we could have used a more functional tool than the can and bottle openers provided to pry open or leverage screw-top jars. The fresh fruit available from the amply stocked and reasonably priced Safeway 15 minutes away was delicious. The fantastic beach and two pools (one adult, one for all) were easily walkable and lightly populated by friendly people and dogs. The two beach chairs and umbrella provided both worked fine, but a couple more of each would have been helpful. The owners provided helpful lists of restaurants, grocery stores, and other resources. We particularly enjoyed Coconuts for fish tacos and seared ahi salads and Three Chefs for Asian/Southwestern/Hawaiian dishes (both in Kihei) and Lapperts for ice cream in the Wailea shopping center. We also enjoyed dinners prepared by our son and daughter-in-law at their neighboring Ekahi place, which was larger and more up-to-date, but considerably more expensive. The large lawns nearby provided great play areas for their pre-school kids. There was some traffic noise in the morning from a neighboring street, but it was only noticeable out on the lanai--not inside. We replaced a couple bulbs, but everything else worked great. We were pleased to inherit from the previous occupants a few usable items in the refrigerator and to forward the favor to the next guests.
