The island of Great Exuma is one of the jewels of the Caribbean and is easily accessible from both the USA and Europe.
Tucked away in a comfortable and relaxed setting, Casa Tua Exuma Villa is a colourful estate, located on Queens Highway across from the beach, surrounded by lush foliage and the vibrant colors of the Caribbean. Overlooking the crystal clear waters of Exuma Beach, this villa offers comfortable accommodation with stunning views from every angle imaginable! Just sit on the upper balcony and watch spectacular sunrises, full moons and falling stars.
The three-bedroom villa can comfortably sleep up to eight people, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space.The two-story house is built in traditional Caribbean-style with beautiful tropical hardwood floors and tiles with Balinese-style decor. With three bedrooms and three baths (two bedrooms downstairs are communicated by a outside stairwell to the master bedroom, kitchen, dining room and living room upstairs), the 1800 square-foot villa is perfect for both large and small groups. Reverse living affords views of the ocean with the master bedroom, kitchen, dining room and living room upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs. What is more, the solid, comfortable furniture throughout the house invites hours of casual relaxation
Our guests can enjoy a full volleyball court on the property, and large umbrellas and chairs are available at court side for leisurely viewing during games.

It’s a great base for exploring the island, or just staying put and reveling in the sounds of the ocean and the caress of the sea breeze.

We truly enjoyed our vacation in Exuma and our stay at Casa Tua! The house was wonderful and in a perfect location. Very private and Very close to airport and Georgetown. It was well appointed and comfortable. The beach across the street is amazing. You rarely saw anyone on the beach. We spent our days exploring the beaches around the island and enjoying the local cuisine!! ( Santana’s lobster is a must!) After our day exploring, we would head back to Casa Tua and spend the majority of the time on the deck. The views are amazing. It was truly a relaxing and laid back vacation. Can’t wait to return in the future!! Carlos, thanks for sharing your wonderful home! We had an amazing stay!!
Spacious, well equipped home with good proximity to many great beaches
Appealing and spacious home, well-equipped with furnishings, tableware, towels and ample beach gear. The deck on the second level has lots of seating, a bbq, hammock and a fantastic view of the ocean, a great place to relax with coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. The beach volleyball court provided hours of entertainment for both the adults and children in our group, it was a nice break from the beach. A 2 min walk down a designated trail leads to the beach, and what a great beach it is, miles of pristine sand and water and at any one time only 1-2 other families there. The owner, Carlos, was very helpful both before and during our trip, offering his knowledge and experience of things to do and see, and was quick to respond to any issues we had. Speaking of that, there are a few things that keep the property from getting 5 stars. One being that the freezer in the fridge leaked on the floor continually during our trip. Nothing a towel didn't contain but still a bother. Multiple light bulbs burned out during our stay and we could not locate extras, but replacing them would have been a chore as the ceiling is rather high. One of the stairs leading to the second level was partially missing which then required your full concentration when going down and extra attention given to our young ones. All of these issues are fairly minor and didn't disrupt our trip. One last point would be that leaving just salt, pepper and or sugar in the spice cupboard would be a nice gesture as clearly every vacationer would likely purchase these but then they are removed after each stay.
The beaches on the island are breathtaking, second to none really and I've been to many Caribbean islands. In particular, visit Cocoplum Beach, we did twice, and when the tide is low you can walk for nearly half a mile or more out from the shoreline and still only be in shin high water with exposed sand bars all around. On these bars you'll find immaculate sand dollars and sea urchin shells, and starfish. We also found a live conch and I happened to see a young black tip reef shark in the shallows.
Overall a great trip and an island we will no doubt be back to visit. I wouldn't hesitate to stay or recommend this property due to its close proximity to the beach, airport and other amenities.
Thank you four your review and we’re glad to hear you had a wonderful stay.
We appreciate the time you took to tell us why your review was 4 if 5 rather than 5 of 5 stars.
We are happy to note the 3 minor deficiencies have been corrected:
1) the light bulb on the high ceiling has been replaced;
2) the step on the outside of the house has been replaced;
3) the slight leak/ condensation from the freezer has been corrected( there was ice blocking it from closing completely so condensation was forming).
Again, thank you for your input and we hope to have you again!
Casa Tua Exuma
A memorable and special place! Two weeks in paradise!
We spent two magnificent weeks at this beautiful and special villa, Casa Tua, on Jimmy Hill, Exuma, from July 30 to August 13. When we arrived, the house was ready. As we arrived on a Sunday, the stores were closed so we had made prior arrangements with Laverne as the owner Carlos Leon proposed to have some items already bought for us in advance. The house is very close to the airport and the location is just amazing. We are on a hill with fabulous nature, coconut trees, birds, lizards, the view of the ocean is spectacular from everywhere in the house and the balcony surrounding the house and particularly on the sun deck besides the master bedroom! The villa is on two levels with an outside stairway to get from the lower level of two bedrooms, two bathrooms to the second level where you have the gorgeous and well equipped kitchen with a gas stove, living room with nice sound system. The master bedroom is gorgeous with a bathroom in the room with a Jacuzzi tub bath! Very comfortable beds and air conditioned in all the rooms! Even though we experienced a power outage on the island that lasted 7 hours, we were able to open the doors and with the wind blowing we were comfortable! Carlos, the owner, was very reliable and fast in sending a repairman for the air conditioned that was leaking after the power outage! The spectacular beach accessible by a short path is so beautiful and you can walk a long time on the beach! When the ocean is calm, you can see dolphins If you have a dolphin karma as we saw 4 on a morning walk! It is very easy to visit the island to Little Exuma and Bareterre in an hour. Groceries are available at Prime Deli meats market at la Familia Hooper’s bay and Exuma Market store in Georgetown! On your way to Grand Isle you can find a convenience store! Liquor stores are available at Bristol in Farmer’s Hill or in Georgetown! We did one day excursion to the Cays with Robert’s Island adventures with captain William and CJ. Awesome! Hooper’s Bay is the place to swim with turtles. The beach at Tropic of Cancer is something else and Santana’s grill has great food and their lobster is succulent! We went to Stocking Island, Chat ‘N’ Chill with Elvis taxi! We ate lunch at Palapa Grill at Grand Isle Resort, Peace ‘N’ Plenty, Splash and Augusta Bay!
Thank you Carlos for the hospitality and for the great and special time we spent at Casa Tua!
We will definitely be back soon as Exuma has become our special Island!
Louise, Serge and Francine.
just a wonderful time !!!
wish i can stay for another month !!!!
A Home In Paradise
We enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Casa Tua.
The location of the villa was ideal for us......a couple of minutes from the airport , centrally located making the exploring of the island easy. The beach is beautiful and for most of our stay we had it to ourselves.
The villa is very comfortable and well-equipped and the ocean views from the deck were awesome!!! Seriously considering a repeat visit next year..
Good value for the money.
The house had everything in working order, there were no issues with bugs or creepy crawlers,
the only odd thing that was hard to get use to is the toilet and bath are in the master bedroom upstairs, so if you have to use either one there may be no privacy and the person in the other room better turn up the TV so you don't have to hear wants going on. The bed in master is very hard (not my liking but maybe to some.) My teenage children had no issues with there rooms at all. Internet is fast and outside balcony with wireless speakers(Bluetooth) an asset, only thing nothing was explained when we arrived such as gas oven. The overhead hood filters were coated in grease as were the racks above the oven. Also there is no fan above the oven, just the hood. The lights that light up the Palms on the driveway are there but don't work. Remember this is not Sandals and you get what you pay for. Satellite TV was sufficient when it rained. Lots of towels and beach equipment. The place could use a coat of paint. All in All it serves as good home base for all the things to do and see.
Casa Tua Exuma Villa is surrounded by some of the most spectacular waters in the world. You can enjoy miles and miles of spectacular beaches and mile-long sandbars, which are perfect for exploring. Let your hair down, and enjoy the diversity of the Exuma's amenities. Enjoy the thrills of jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, kite-surfing and, of course, fishing and diving. Daily excursions of Ocean Safari and Eco-Tours are available for the whole family. Elizabeth Harbour, not only is spectacular in beauty, but allows daily transportation for day trips to remote islands for fun and sun. We have a complete list of information necessary for your stay at the Villa. Should you have any questions our villa manager is 24 hours available.
