This neighborhood is one of the most sought after by Parisians.
Modern and bright apartment on the top floor with an exclusive terrace offering an overview on Paris ( Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Montparnasse Tower..) located in the heart of a very lively area of Paris left bank.
My wife and I stayed here for a month starting in September 2016. This is a very nice one bedroom apartment with a good size living room. Great views: Montparnesse tower, Eiffel tower, Invalides/St. Louis cathedral, St. Sulpice Cathedral towers, Sacre Couer, and many roof tops. Bedroom has a door for isolation from the living room. Queen size bed is comfortable. Never tried the sleeper sofa as a bed. Kitchen is small but well equipped. Sink, dishwasher, four position electric cook top, microwave, oven, refrigerator/freezer, combination clothes washer/dryer, pod coffee maker, toaster/radio (that is not a mistake --- I never saw one before), and an ample supply of utensils, cutlery, plates, etc. Good size floor fan in the bedroom. Sony cable TV about 32 inches in living room with CNN, BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, French24 and Aljazera in English. The apartment is bright, airy and well maintained. Small balcony with a table and chairs. Strong deadbolt on apartment entry. Double pane glass very effective at sound deadening. Apartment house is on the corner of Boulevard Montparnesse and Cherche Midi; the front door faces the intersection. Two restaurants at the intersection, several more restaurants within a 5 minute walk. A small convenience store is across Cherche Midi. Two Franprix stores are within 10 minutes, and a Monoprix store is just on the other side of the Montparnesse tower about a 15 minute walk. Raspail street market (the Barefoot Contessa's favorite) is at Rennes metro station or about a 15 minute walk --- open Tuesday and Friday mornings. ATM about 100 meters away. Two metro stations block away. A third Metro/RER station next to the Montparnesse tower. Bon Marche department store and its adjacent Epicerie food store are a 15 minute walk away. The only negative is the bathroom situation because in Paris apartments space is precious. Off the bedroom is the main bathroom facility with a sink and a tub/shower. The tub is small with little room between the wall and the shower curtain. The toilet is in a separate, very small room off the entry. There is no room to have even a small sink in the same room with the toilet, but the kitchen sink is nearby. I would prefer the tub be replaced with a shower stall, but I imagine it would cost thousands of euros to do. The apartment positives far outweigh the negatives, and I would rent this apartment again.
We spent the summer in this wonderful apartment on Blvd. du Montparnasse. We have spent the last six summers in Paris but did not know the Montparnasse area. The apartment was ideal size for us, big living/dining area, good size bedroom, excellently equipped kitchen and more than ample closet space. Bright, cheerful, lots of light, high ceilings, charming balcony, great view of the Eifel Tower. And with the windows closed very quiet, and with very efficient shutters to keep light out at night. The owner was extremely helpful in every way. We would go back in a second ... and hope to!
Too many Paris apartments have what is called "charm" which often translates into old, dark and no elevator. This is a newer building, eight floors, two apartments a floor, with a sensibly sized elevator that goes to the 7th. floor, easy walk up one flight.
The area was the big surprise. Away from tourist meccas bur easily accessible to everywhere. Three metro stations very close-by with access to all lines. Supermarkets, big and small within easy walking distance. Excellent restaurants at all price points. Apartment on corner of Rue de Cherchemidi, one of the nicest and most interesting streets in Paris. Leads to an excellent street market and, at other end of extreme, Bon Marche.
this is a lovely modern space, full of light, full of french windows and doors and more wonderful views than you can imagine. the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook for yourself, the bed is very very comfortable, the modern decor and light floors work beautifully with the light and space. You are close to the metro, there are busses out the door, the building is small and stunning and very well kept and you're on the top floor with an elevator that works perfectly allowing you only one flight of stairs to climb. There are markets close-by, cafes and restaurants, and you're 15 minutes on foot from Le Bon Marche. And don't get me started about the tartes at the Boulengerie across the street, they are amazing! I would recommend this to anyone and would be so grateful to be able to stay here again and again. And I was here during a flooded Seine and worker's strikes and it was still a perfect retreat.
My two daughters (ages 10 and 15), my husband and I stayed sux nights in this sweet apartment. It is bright and clean with a balcony and many big windows. You may close up shades to keep
Out the sun but when you open them
You get a cross-breeze. We stayed during a heat spell so the owner also provided an electric fan but it was not necessary. The apartment is well equipped to prepare meals, it has a nice clothes steamer, etc. We loved the area (we walked everywhere as we preferred that to navigating the métro) and would love to return. Finally, I greatly appreciated having my 500e deposit quickly refunded.
My husband and I stayed for a week (well, just under one week, thanks to Air France canceling our flight!). When our arrival plans changed, the owner and management company were very understanding and accommodating.
We loved the balcony! We shared wine and appetizers there in the evening, coffee and croissants in the morning. Perfection! A great view of the Eiffel Tower. The apartment was clean and well kept. A slight cigarette smell when we came in, but it quickly left after leaving the windows open for a day. Speaking of windows, by having them open at night, it compensated for the lack of AC. Just make sure to prop the doors and windows open, or they will slam! During the day, the noise from the ambulances going to nearby hospitals is loud, but they generally do not use their sirens at night, so it is totally tolerable, as long as you are not a very light sleeper. It did not bother us, and we had every window open, due to an incredible heat wave.
The apartment is not in a highly touristy neighborhood, but it has EASY metro access and we were able to get everywhere in the city in 20 minutes or less, mostly less.
All in all, we loved the apartment, loved the terrace, management was excellent and prompt, neighbors were silent, and it was a great home base for exploring the fabulous city of Paris.
