About the Property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6

Nestled amidst old hemlocks, The Cabin at Camp Mac is an intimate getaway in one of the most secluded ponds in the Lake Clear area. Walk down your own private trail to MacCauley Pond, where the fishing, canoeing, and starry nights abound. The Cabin is situated on 52 acres of wilderness, with walking trails for your personal use. Once you've toured the property, walk down to MacCauley Pond and explore the non-motorized pond at your leisure. MacCauley Pond is a warm water fishery, with guests catching pike, bass and perch. The Cabin comes with a canoe and life jackets for adults. Enjoy sunrises on the private dock, where guests watch for osprey, beaver and river otters. The cozy solitude of The Cabin is its most unique characteristic. With no television, The Cabin is really your chance to get away from it all! The Cabin itself has a rustic Adirondack charm. Wood-panelled walls adorn the first floor. The main bedroom, full bath, kitchen and sitting area are well appointed and comfortable. The upstairs is a loft, with one large room containing beds for 4 people. Sunlight floods the room and is a bright and lively space for our guests. From the loft, guests can see MacCauley Pond from the large picture window. There is also a deck on The Cabin to enjoy the fresh Adirondack air. This region of the Adirondacks has so much to explore. There are many wilderness options, including hiking, the St. Regis canoe area, and boating on Upper Saranac Lake. If you prefer visiting Adirondack towns, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake are both nearby. The Visitor Interpretive Center at Paul Smith's College is 15 minutes away, with miles of beautifully maintained hiking trails. One of the most popular attractions in all of the Adirondacks is The Wild Center in Tupper Lake. Just 20 miles away, The Wild Center is the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, and is a must see on your tour of the area.
