No need to get in a car or worry about steps or hills! If you want to hike, just a few minutes as you wind through the neighborhood, to one of the many trails that take you to the ridge behind. Jump on your bike(or rent one) and take off out Blithedale Canyon up the Railroad Grade to the top of Mt. Tam. Not into hiking or biking? Meander into town, enjoy the small town feeling as you sit outside at the Depot or any number of outdoor cafes!

About Stephanie Witt

As a 4th Generation Mill Valleyan, I have a unique insight into what makes this home! My great-grandparents moved to Mill Valley in 1911 and built their home. I grew up here and went through all the public schools. I currently live here after having lived in Texas for a few years and 13 years in Hawaii. I have been in real estate for 25 years and am active community participant. One of my brothers lives here as well as nieces and nephews. My son, who was born in Hawaii and lived here, too, now lives in the East Bay.

Stephanie Witt purchased this studio in 1993

Why Stephanie Witt chose Mill Valley

This is my home town and I grew up about 4 blocks from here. I bought this home when I was first beginning real estate. I felt it had 'potential' and I developed it. Love being so close to town, parks, tennis and hiking.

What makes this studio unique

I actually renovated it recently for myself to live in someday! It is a studio, but it is top notch, high quality and everyone who has stayed in it, loves the coziness of it. No views, but great light. It's an easy, flat, level jaunt to town, about 10-12 minutes. On the bus line to SF or anywhere in the area. Near parks, tennis. Has off street parking. Walk in closet.

Just right for a week of work in SF. Location perfect, place neat, clean, and with necessary amenities all in working order. Hope to stay here again when in Marin or SF next.

We stayed in early October 2017 and were very happy with the accommodations. Location was great, bedding was clean and comfortable, kitchen was complete, bathroom had all the appropriate necessaries, closet was large for storage. We have already recommended this apartment to a friend. Thank You, Stephanie for the wonderful accommodations. Jeff and Jeanne

Barking Dogs a Nuisance

  • 3 of 5

The studio was clean.

Kitchen supplies were limited but that was expected.

However 3 barking dogs were not expected. I am not sure if the dogs belonged to the owners or their tenant but they were definitely a nuisance.

I was visiting the area because my daughter had just had a new baby. Because of post pregnancy problems I needed to be available to her, her husband and toddler so I needed sleep.

If you are looking for a clean well located property this may be for you. It is wonderfully located in Mill Valley. The price was very reasonable for the area.

If you need quiet, think again.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Donna. I wish you had mentioned this about the dogs. I have one 13 year old golden that can barely walk, let along bark. There are dogs in the neighborhood and I hear them too, but not mine. I am the owner and live upstairs, there are no tenants! Would love to hear back as to what you would like to see in my unit as well as supplies? Thanks much.

Cozy & Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this sweet spot on our visit to the Bay Area and it served our needs perfectly. Our criteria for accommodations were that it be a close walk to downtown Mill Valley and the running/bike path and hiking trails, with easy and safe parking for a car and a motorcycle. The place itself was well appointed, spotless, and bright -- it felt very peaceful and relaxing to be there. The fully stocked kitchen was great, as was the shower and separate dressing area - not to mention a very comfortable bed! Our thanks to the owner who was so welcoming and readily available whenever we needed anything -- you helped make our stay a wonderful experience!

No long term rentals available. One month maximum depending on timing. If you crave being outdoors and close to a small town center, then this is it! Weather here is an average of 70 degrees year round. Nestled at the foot of Mt. Tam, there are redwood trees, steps, lanes and paths to take you even to the Beach at Stinson via the world famous DIPSEA TRAIL. The Dipsea foot race happens each year with over a 1,000 runners. Home to the world famous Mill Valley Film Festival. The miles of hiking and mountain biking trails are endless and you don't have to get into a car to begin your trek. With an excellent theater company, and comedy venue, 142 Throckmorton Theater and now The Sweetwater venue for music, there is plenty of entertainment. You can ride a bike across the Golden Gate bridge, or just hike it. The Bridge is only 7 minutes from downtown Mill Valley. The seafront towns of Sausalito and Tiburon are spectacular and you can drive or bike to both areas on bike paths.
