We have visited Paris many times in the recent years, usually for 2 weeks staying in an apartment so that we can explore the neighborhood and walk the beautiful streets of this amazing city. We would definitely return here. As others have said, this is a perfect location, on a quiet block nestled in between the Luxembourg Gardens and Boulevard Montparnasse. The fourth floor walk up was not a problem for us, but thanks to Rodolfo for helping to carry our heavy luggage up the stairs the first day. He is a very accommodating and responsive host. The apartment was very quiet and comfortable, with lots of space in the living room and bedroom and extra space in the side office to hold your luggage and hang clothing out of the way. The bed was very comfortable, firm but with a tempurpedic-type topper, and lots of pillows and towels. The sofa in the living room and the dining room chairs were also very comfortable. The living room and dining room area are lined with large windows that you can open to enjoy the breeze and see the street below. We enjoyed the English cable news stations in the evenings including CNN, France 24, BBC News and i24 news out of Tel Aviv. We did not cook, so we can't speak to the appliances other than the microwave, which was spacious. We shopped for fresh fruits at local stores and the wonderful bakery across the street also had good sandwiches and some take out salad options. We love the Luxembourg Gardens and went there often to relax, read and people watch. Check the park schedule online for their free weekend afternoon concerts in the park. This is a great location for walking -- you can walk to Notre Dame, the Orsay Museum, or Les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower in 20-40 minutes. If you prefer, you can go to metro stops at Vavin or Montparnase Bienvenue for access to lines that take you straight to those sites and many others. We will definitely be back!
We are a bit new to VRBO, this was our first. (But since then, we have stayed in four different units.) This is a forth floor walk up but you quickly get used to it. It is a great location. French neighborhood, not touristy. Easy to get to stores nearby. Accross the street from a great little restaurant and a bakery too. And one and a half blocks to the south is one of the best restaurants we've ever been to in our lives. (Get the sole or steak.) It's a famous old restaurant and a Hemingway haunt. The apartment itself is spacious and old and charming. It has an extra room which makes a great junk room for your luggage. And the living room and dining room are huge by VRBO standards. The reason this unit is inexpensive is because the bathroom has not been updated but it was adequate. The appliances were frustrating to use because they had no instruction with them. The dishwasher, the washing machine and stove all required additional help. At night we would pull our chairs in front of the front windows and have a glass of wine and watch the street traffic. It was fun. One of the best parts was the cross breeze you get in the bedroom when you open the windows there and in the living room. The bedding was wonderful. Very comfortable. We stayed 15 nights and grew to just love it. We would love to stay there again. And when we do, we will stay longer and go to the local markets for take out more often. And four times to that restaurant just to the south was not enough!
We loved everything about this place!
Starting with Rodolfo's always quick replies to emails. Eva a lovely and gracious hostess who patiently waited for our delayed arrival and greeted us with a smile. (After a long journey from LA and lost luggage we were very grateful for her flexibility and sweet demeanor).
The flat is spacious, clean, well equipped and did I mention spacious!! Great bed comfy bed, wonderful centrally located location, relatively quiet for a downtown apartment and easy access to the metro.
Having such a lovely place to come home to truly made our trip amazing and delightful. Be careful of the highly addicting bakery across the street! Thank goodness for the stairs and the walking all over Paris!
I will never stay anywhere else when I/we visit Paris!
My husband and I spent 6 nights here and loved the spacious apt., great neighborhood, and close proximity to the Meto. The apt. is a 3 floor walk-up but the exercise helped wear off the wonderful croissants from the local bakery. We would stay here again!
We have stayed in many apartments in Paris over the years and this one is the best one we've rented.
It's in a very central location close to metro and walkable to many torrist attractions.
The bed is very comfy, bathroom is big and the kitchen is well equipped. There is bakery and cafe right across the street which is a major plus.
The only tough this is the stairs which we got used to after 2 days and it kept us in shape even though we ate like crazy for two weeks :)
We have stayed in several apartments in Paris. This was by far the nicest place we have stayed. It is very large( by Paris standards). It is in a great spot with the gardens just down the street and close to the RER,Metro, and bus. The best bakery in town is across the street. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a nice piano. The building is quiet and everything you need is at the apartment. Beware of only one thing, this is on the 3rd (4th American floor) so there are 3 full flights of stairs, no elevator. Not for people that cannot take stairs, but the apartment is well worth the stairs if you can manage it. You will not find a better place in Paris for the price.
