About David and Sue Syvertson Owners & Mariella Moyer 970-471-1831

Live in Houston, but love Colorado, especially the summers. This may be our retirement home one day but for now it is our getaway that we can share with others.

David and Sue Syvertson Owners & Mariella Moyer 970-471-1831 purchased this house in 2012

Why David and Sue Syvertson Owners & Mariella Moyer 970-471-1831 chose Eagle

We took a weeks vacation Colorado in the summer of 2012. I went paragliding from a spot 500' from this home. I liked the views and decided that that this might be a great retirement area. I found this house, made a offer and closed 2 months later. The rest is history and have no desire to sell.

What makes this house unique

This property is very unique. It was originally built and owned by the Nottingham family that owned the land that became Avon and Beaver Creek ski area. They could have built any place but chose this spot. The home has painted panels taken from a bar in Eagle painted by a local artist. Also, there are over 100 cattle brands from local ranches.

Really Impressive View

  • 5 of 5

The house by far had the best view throughout the whole valley. Our family really enjoyed our stay and would love to book this home in the future.

Winter Wonderland

  • 4 of 5

We arrived at this property on December 23, spending the next week with my family in the Vail area for the first time Our Great Niece (fro Miami) wanted to experience a white Christmas. Along the way as we were finalizing our arrangements, Dave (the owner) and Mariela (the property manager) were extremely helpful in providing assistance and answering our question. They even decorated the house with a Christmas tree and garlands to make it a festive arrival for my nephew's young family.

When we arrived. we loved the house immediately. It is as exactly as pictured on the listing. Large, rustic, comfortable, and with a fantastic view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The home was clean and well stocked to satisfy our immediate needs. Any additional grocery/household purchases could be make at Edwards, 10 miles away.

We enjoyed the pool room, the puzzles and hanging out spending quality time. Didn't even try to watch TV except for a video that we brought along for the little princess. Most of the time at the house was spent around the kitchen/dining/great room area. Plenty of space for everyone. And the surrounding area offered tubing, skiing, dining, sleigh riding, etc. All in all, the home and its location offered something for everyone.

The only bad part of the experience, which no one really has control over, is that the house can get very cold at night. Especially the rooms with a lot of windows (both a blessing and a curse). I think we happened to arrive at one of the colder times of the year. The trash removal policy is very inconvenient, so much so that we just did the best we could without making the multiple trips that would have been needed.

All in all though, we (especially our great niece) experienced what she always wanted and was an extremely happy camper. Thank you Dave for allowing my family to enjoy your families home and for all of your hospitality! And Happy New Year to you and yours!

A house among the stars

  • 5 of 5

This was my first visit to the area, and found this house magnificent in terms of view. At night I could look out and view the stars and even the occasional shooting star. The house is very beautiful with spectacular views on all four directions. When not star gazing there is a wonderful area to put your feet up and read a book in front of not only one but two fireplaces or in cozy easy chairs. Also one may watch the Para-gliding from the house or get a close up view of the launch site within a 5 minute walk from the house. Within a 15 minute drive are Beaver Creek, and Vail ski resorts that can be seen from the deck of the house. This home is great for families with a vast variety of board games, pool table and many other options for family togetherness. I definitely plan to return to this house to take in all of creation.

Amazing views! Convenient location! Charming house!

  • 4 of 5

The house was older, with some updates, but had lots of charm. It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. The house is situated unbelievably high up which was absolutely amazing! It was easy to get to and conveniently located to hiking trails, shops and restaurants, hot springs, white water rafting and para-sailing. We could watch the para-sailing from the house. The views were breathtaking and could be seen from just about everywhere. It felt like we were sleeping under the stars in the master bedroom with a wall of windows on two sides. The upper deck was pretty cool to hang out on and watch the night sky! The side deck was cozy but could have used a little table to set things on. Some may feel the need for a second tv for kids who are different ages. The wifi wasn't working when we were there. It would would have been nice to have a hot tub up there. My family would stay there again. It was a good value.

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house and thought the entire experience to be wonderful. The owner was very accommodating and friendly. The location was near numerous activities, including Beaver Creek. The views were incredible and the house itself was warm and perfect for a group of friends/family. I would highly recommend a visit if you can make it out.
