I grew up in the small town of Scotia, NY. I've had the opportunity to live in Lake George, NY, North Carolina, South Carolina, and California. Out family finally settled in York Maine in 1998. I currently work as a middle school guidance counselor in the beautiful town of Kennebunk, Maine. Both of my children work in York during the summer and attend college throughout the school year, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, walking, biking,, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with family and friends. It's an honor to be able to share our home with others so they can experience the beautiful Maine Coast in a house that makes them feel at home.
Diane and Drew Binger purchased this house in 1998
Our family purchased this property because of the location. Our children were ages 2 and 5 when we arrived in York in 1998. The house is 1/2 mile from the beach and walking distance to town and two schools, the location was perfect. The yard was equally appealing - large enough for kids to run and play and have adventured. In 2005 we added a beautiful addition that allowed us to build an incredible kitchen to accommodate our friends and extended family who often come to visit. We also took this opportunity to add a mud room, Master bedroom suite with a full bath, extend our deck and and a farmer's porch. All of these additions have truly enriched our lives throughout the years.
This house has many unique benefits. The location of the property is number one. The sidewalks lead you where ever you want to go - Long Sands Beach or the quaint town of York. The flow of the house is designed for entertaining family and friends and the kitchen provides the perfect gathering place for all to enjoy. The large deck extends the house to the outdoors and the yard is a wonderful place for children to play. The outdoor fireplace has provides both our family and friends hours of enjoyment. In addition, the 4 plus bedrooms allow for all to sleep comfortably after hours of summer fun.
We would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Short distance to the beach, basement had football table and air hockey game, plenty of bedrooms for our family of 11. Loved it!!!!
My family stayed in this home for a week this summer and it surpassed all our expectations!! Not only did we have plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 kids to sleep but also we all had more than enough room to lounge, eat, play games, and enjoy each others company without feeling cramped. We loved the open floor plan so we all could sit comfortably and eat breakfast around the kitchen island or cook dinner and chat without being separated in different rooms. One of the biggest benefits for my kids was the big backyard where they could run and play while all the adults relaxed around the table on the deck. You can't beat the location either! Close to the beach and just 15 mins from plenty of restaurants, shops, and fun activities to do with kids. You can tell the owner, Diane, took a lot of time making sure her home was comfortable, clean, and provided anything we could possibly need during our stay. Truly a wonderful place to stay! We are already figuring out which dates work for everyone to come back next year!
This property met all our needs and then some. We gathered with extended family for a mini reunion before the summer commenced. The home accommodated 11 adult aged family members ranging over three generations. As soon as we entered this immaculately kept home, we knew we had made the right choice. The home, simply stated, is charming. An open floor living space including a large modern kitchen, living room and dining area lead to a sizable deck. A cozy family/TV room in the back of the house was available as well. Three full bathrooms and 5 bedrooms provided us with the room we needed for all to sleep comfortably. The deck provided us a great place to gather as well as grill. The driveway was large enough to easily accommodate all of our vehicles. A fire pit in the backyard provided a cozy spot to gather after dark. The beaches, shopping and restaurants were all within close proximity to the home. We were pleased to see how truly close to the beach we were and enjoyed morning walks to the beach and along the shoreline. It was apparent that Diane, the owner of the home, took great pride in providing her guests with a "home away from home" experience. She answered any and all questions and was available to us throughout our stay, if needed. We recommend this home to others and look forward to returning next summer.
Absolutely WONDERFUL property that fits MANY needs. Large enough for a big family and with the 3 bathrooms-- every need met comfortably. The location was perfect!! Explore York and the Beaches there, or travel north to other Maine locations within a few minutes; or venture south to Hampton Beach if you so desire for a day. The yard and outdoor fireplace make for a fun night of relaxing after a day of exploring. The owner was most accommodating in providing for our EVERY request.
This property was wonderful. Very comfortable for our large family. The big yard was great for the kids to play in and we enjoyed evenings sitting by the outside fireplace. The location was perfect. My family would definitely rent this property again in the future.
