We started vacationing on Kiawah many years ago. Our children learned to ride bikes on the wide hard-packed white beach. Many happy memories have been made on the island and we are excited to share our home and the opportunities for fun and relaxation on the beautiful island.
Nolie Barnes purchased this house in 2011
Our home provides a relaxing haven and easy access both on and off the island. It is located close to so many island ammenities and also close to Freshfields for groceries, pharmacy and island shopping.
Wow….I almost called you after stepping foot inside 151 Broomsedge, as we were all blown away with your home. The floor plan was absolutely perfect for our large family and the house was just stunning. The lighting (amazing!) , the furniture, the well-equipped kitchen (six burners and double oven thrilled me), the view, the peacefulness, the warm vibe….. It was the perfect vacation is every way possible. Everyone found their favorite spot(s) by the end of the week. Mine was coffee on the front porch very early every morning (deer joined me almost every day) and the nook next to the dining room table. Thank you for sharing it.
Incredible house...beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained. Stunning views of the marsh. Felt so pampered staying in such a lovely home.
A truly wonderful vacation in a beautiful home! We enjoyed the incredible views of the marsh as the tides changed, the truly spectacular sunsets and watching the golfers on the par 3 Cougar Point #6. We cooked several outstanding meals in the extremely well-equipped kitchen and loved the huge table that we all sat around to eat, play games and talk. We had fun riding the bikes to the beach and the inlet to watch the dolphins at low tide. Everyone had such a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their stay in this outstanding home on Kiawah Island. What special memories for our family. Many thanks Nolie.
This is a fabulous, truly beautiful home! We are regular visitors to Kiawah Island, as land owners of a home site on Kiawah. We rent really nice, unique vacation homes all over Kiawah Island on each visit. We will definitely return to this special home in the near future!
Everything about this home is fantastic. New and modern with all of the latest amenities, especially the gourmet kitchen. The view, Wow! The view from the sitting room and the living room is spectacular: the Kiawah River at high and low tide, with the incredible sunsets, too. And the birds, the snowy white egrets and cranes all welcome you to their habitat, with its peace and tranquility. The dining and living rooms, the bedrooms and bathrooms were outstanding. All very, very comfortable. We walked to the beach, rather than ride the bikes in the garage. The proximity to Freshfields, Cassique, and Briar's Creek was wonderful, avoiding the long trek across the island from the Vanderhorst Plantation.
Clearly, the owners of this lovely home care about their home, as well as their guests. This is special and not common. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!
We have traveled to Kiawah many times for Easter Vacation with our children (as tots, teenagers and now young Adults) and this by far was the BEST home we have ever rented. The home is beyond gorgeous, with every possible amenity. We spent time cooking great meals together in the fully loaded Chef's dream kitchen, gathered around the large farm table to eat and play many of the board games provided, spent long hours talking and laughing into the night. Rode bikes, watched Sunsets & golfers! It was exactly what everyone needed! I cannot thank Nolie enough for sharing her beautiful home with our family. Also, the whole process from start to finish went flawless.....as is the home!
Beautiful home, double master bedrooms, wonderfully equipped kitchen, back deck with views of the marsh and #6 on Cougar Point...it couldn't have been better for our week leading up to our daughter's wedding in Charleston! We were hoping for laid back ease and comfort and we got it. Loved cooking in the Chef's kitchen so much we dined in every night. Spent an afternoon in the back yard watching the golfers come thru the Par 3 #6 and the last day on the beautiful beach a short bike ride away! A perfect stay! Thanks Nolie for all your help...it was a perfect stay and we'll be back!
We spent the week between Christmas and New Year's on Kiawah Island with our family. This was our first trip to Kiawah because we typically stay on the Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island or in downtown Charleston. We absolutely loved Kiawah and especially the gorgeous home with the beautiful sunsets, marsh views, and bicycles to tour around the island! The weather was in the 80s every day and our sons even went swimming in the ocean! We rode bikes every day around the island. It was really nice not to have to rent bikes! The owner was outstanding and, not only sent excellent information before our stay, but also helped with figuring out the thermostats while we were there. She was always just a phone call away and she was extremely gracious! I highly recommend this gorgeous home! We took note of many decorating ideas and my husband will be busy at our home in Virginia this year, thanks to the ideas we got from this impeccably renovated and decorated home. It is beautiful and the views are breathtaking!
We enjoyed the little village of Kiawah also. We ate at Hege's for brunch, the Drugstore for lunch, and we took out pizza from La Tela's. We highly recommend the fig pizza! We especially enjoyed lunch and Happy Hour at The Sanctuary, which was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Our favorite restaurant was the Wild Olive. It was truly exceptional. We also had dinner at home several nights. Cooking was very fun in the gourmet kitchen that was appointed with everything you could ask for and the gas grill made barbequing fun as well. Having Harris Teeter close to the house made grocery shopping easy.
It was truly a perfect vacation and we cannot wait to return to Kiawah and to this gorgeous home for another week of fun, sun, and relaxation in 2016!
