Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, Sleeps 10

When you think of 'Up-North Lake Cabin' in Traverse City this beautiful property is probably what comes to mind. Tucked away on 3.5 private acres, this immaculately clean cabin sits on 100 feet of sparkling Long Lake frontage. Truly, this is the very best location for a Traverse City vacation spot. Only 10 miles from downtown TC, as well as a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, local wineries and quaint villages full of shopping & restaurants. Plus, we are located about 1.5 miles from the Legendary Boone's Long Lake Inn Steakhouse and about 5 miles from the Interlochen School of Arts. Sitting on a bluff, this cottage has amazing views from the patio and most rooms in the cabin.

Inside, you'll enjoy WIFI, an open floor plan and fully equipped kitchen, along with 2 bedrooms plus a large loft with additional beds. Outside, enjoy camp fires by the lake; catch big walleye, bass & pike off the dock; swim on the hard sandy beach; tie your boat to our dock. You'll love the wildlife that call our property home - loons, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, blue jays, cardinals and the occasional bald eagle. Located on the end of Long Lake Peninsula, our cabin is very, very private; while the peninsula is great for lake side walks, biking, roller-blading, etc. This is where family memories are made.

About Mike

My wife and I grew up in Metro Detroit, but always dreamed of living in Traverse City. In 2006, our dream came true. We live on Long Lake with our two daughters and every day we wake up and think 'I can't believe I live here!'

Mike purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Mike chose Northwest

We purchased this property because of the incredible location and privacy. It is very rare to find a parcel on Long Lake as big and as private as this one. The second we walked into the cabin we knew we had to own it. My wife's (an interior designer) first's words were 'It's perfect, I wouldn't change a thing'. She was right ... It's perfect!

What makes this cabin unique

Location, location, location. Plus, the cabin is immaculately clean & very comfortable.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin! We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, hiking at nearby hiking trails, including a visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. Hope to visit again very soon!

Awesome place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The pictures can't do this place justice. If we could own a cabin in Traverse City, this would be it! It is really cute, clean, private and has the perfect Up-North vibe. It has all the amenities you'd expect, including a new dock that we tied our 23 foot bow-rider to with no problem. The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft and having their own space. We hung out by the fire pit on the water almost every night (so many stars!).

Long Lake is an amazing lake to vacation on: it's big and has 4 or 5 islands to explore (one with a pretty big sand bar to hang out on), as well as two other lakes to check out; the fishing is great; and the water is really clear. We tubed and waterskied every day. We already booked a week for the next two years. This is our new "family getaway".

Gem of a Find!

  • 5 of 5

We just booked this cabin again for the third straight year. We love it. The cabin is very clean and comfortable and exactly what we always wanted in a lakefront rental. The lot is really private, quiet and peaceful. The cabin sits on a slight bluff giving you an incredible view of the lake. Our kids enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock. In fact, our youngest son (4 years old) caught his first fish from the dock - a 16" bigmouth bass. The cabin is conveniently located; it took about 15 minutes to drive to downtown and around 30 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes (a MUST see!). The owner and his wife were really nice; we could tell that they cared about our vacation and wanted us to have a great time ... which we did!

Wow! The best family vacation we've ever had!

  • 5 of 5

My family loved our Traverse City vacation. First off, the cabin was everything we hoped it would be. It was private, clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and it has wifi & cable. Best of all ... it has a sunroom and patio with the most incredible views of the lake. The kids loved swimming (very sandy beach) and my husband and son caught fish off the dock every day. It only took us about 10 minutes to drive to downtown TC and about half an hour to Sleeping Bear Dunes (highly recommended!). We also went to a drive in movie at the Cherry Bowl, which was a nice treat.

Lovely, loons & lake

  • 5 of 5

We have vacationed for years in Michigan but this was by far our favorite place. The home was comfortably furnished, conveniently located and the dock a plus. The water was warm & crystal clear so we spent hours on our floaties. Boons Long Lake Steak house short drive- excellent food and service. I can't describe the sounds of the loons - eerily wonderful. A memorable vacation for my family. I hope we can return to same house next year.

Owner's Response: Ahhhhh, yes ... the beautiful sound of the loons is one of our favorite things about the cabin, too. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for being our guest.
