About Michael P Keator
Greetings! I moved from Upstate New York in 1980 to Jackson Hole Wyoming. For the next ten years I guided river trips and wilderness pack trips with horses and mules, guided in wilderness hunting camps and backcountry ski trips, and taught Telemark and cross country skiing. In 1987 I worked for the US Forest Service as a backcountry ranger in the Teton Wilderness. In the summer of 1990 I began my career in Yellowstone National Park as a US Park Ranger. I worked all over the park until June of 2012 when I retired to West Yellowstone, Montana. Currently I live in a log house that I built in Lazy Acres in 2005. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, rafting and skiing along with a sincere desire to share the surrounding area with visitors that don't have the opportunity to live here.
Michael P Keator purchased this House in 2014
Why Michael P Keator chose Lazy Acres
This property is unique because I designed it to meet the needs of friends and family vacationing in Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. The area will give you all the excitement you can handle, and I wanted a place that you can return to after a long day and totally relax in the comfort and style of Montana. Even though the summer months have a six night minimum, I will accept rentals that fill in the gap between rentals. You can check in the same day someone is checking out. Call if you are interested.
What makes this House unique
The Fox Den Lodge is not only unique because of the mountain views but the close proximity to Yellowstone National Park and the country setting it sits in. The name comes from the fact that during the summer of 2013 we enjoyed the adventures and follies of a fox and her 5 kits that built their den under the shed next door. We occasionally have moose and deer walk through Lazy Acres during the summer.

Very close to entrance to park
Michael was veey nice also
My family and I stayed here for two nights while we were visiting Yellowstone. This house was the perfect place to come “home” to after busy days. Very relaxing and everything that we needed was provided by the owner. I would definitely recommend this property! It was wonderful!
Michael was super easy to communicate with. He knew our flight was getting in late and he went and turned on all of the lights for us so we wouldn’t arrive in the dark. The property was super clean. I didn’t feel the need to do any extra cleaning upon arrival. The house was a perfect size for my family of 4. The kids loved having their own room and bathroom. We would love to return for another Yellowstone vacation in a few years and this is where we will stay. I will also recommend this property to anyone that I know who may be planning a trip. Very convenient location to Yellowstone!
This house is wonderful! Every bedroom with it's own bath is a great idea. The place had everything we could need and then some. We ate most of our meals there. It is so close to Yellowstone, it couldn't be more convenient. The owner was great and offered up some terrific tips on how to see things. He even offers up coolers and canvas bags for your time in the park! Our time at the park was amazing - bears, wolves, buffalo, geysers and waterfalls - what more could you want? Oh, a little snow - in June - how fun!
Overall, we had an FANTASIC time at the Foxden and at Yellowstone. The cabin is beautiful and well built; very modern with all the necessary appliances. Mike the owner was very friendly and offer us great park activities and recommendations. Highly recommended. Definitely go again.
Property was so cute, very clean, comfortable and had everything we could have asked for. Owner was helpful too. We have never been to Yellowstone below but we really couldn’t imagine being happier somewhere else seeing in person some of the other options. We will want to rent this house if we ever make it back to Yellowstone.
