About Wilfred

Originally from the South Shore of Nova Scotia, I moved to the Toronto area to pursue a new career. My interests soon shifted to real estate and for many years now, I have been an active real estate sales person in the Riverdale area of Toronto where I enjoy helping clients realize their dreams.

I own several properties in Toronto that are also listed with VRBO and take pleasure in hosting guests from all over the world.

Wilfred purchased this estate in 2011

Why Wilfred chose Ontario

I purchased the lakehouse 4 years ago because it reminded me of being back on the shores of beautiful Nova Scotia. The close proximity to Toronto, (approx. 1 hour drive east of Toronto) allows for an easy escape from the City.

What makes this estate unique

Having been built so close to the waters edge, the retreat offers a special intimate connection with nature in all seasons. Open the windows and you are completely surrounded with the sights and sounds of nature: lapping waves, crying sea gulls, chickadees, morning doves, caawing crows and chirping crickets................................................

Here, is a relaxing, rejuvinating tranquil place with lilacs in the spring, beautiful wild flowers in summer, red and gold leaves in the fall and sparkling diamonds on mountains of lake ice in winter.......................................................................................................NATURAL SETTING & ALL THE CONVENIENCES

The location offers a beautiful natural setting but with all the convenience of nearby downtown shopping, food shopping, farmers markets, box stores, restaurants, golfing, local theatre, healthcare and more.

With only a short 1 hour drive from Toronto, (approx.) the Lakehouse offers a quick escape from the noise and congestion of the big city.

Alternately, you can take one of several Via trains leaving daily from Union Station to Cobourg station, then take a 20 minute walk or taxi to the retreat.

The retreat is well suited for weekend getaways, family reunions, families with children, seniors and romantic getaways. The tasteful decor inside has been popular with girls looking for a weekend getaway......................ACTIVITIES FOR ALL SEASONS

Idyllic spot

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at this wonderful lake house. We soaked up the amazing view, the fresh breezes, the sound of the waves lulling us. We were greeted by a gracious host and we had so much fun creating special meals for each other in such a well-equipped kitchen. Just a really great space where you can unwind and appreciate what matters in life. We don't have a car but there are two great options (from Toronto): take VIA and cab it or, as we did, hire a limo service (SUV) which can take you door to door.

Rejuvenating Views, Charming Lakehouse

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter, grandson (15 months) and I, all had a wonderful and rejuvenating stay at the Lakehouse. The view was spectacular, the house was charming and welcoming -- with everything you could possibly need. We were greeted warmly with wonderful hospitality upon arrival, we quickly felt at home. The old town and beach is a quick drive or walk away, everything is at a very convienat location. We definitely hope to return soon!

Owner's Response: Thank you once again for the lovely review of your stay. As I mentioned, it has been a couple of years since the Lake house was last rented so I am glad to hear that guests are again enjoying the place. Cobourg is a beautiful town and a great destination to spend some quality family time in this somewhat challenging time in history.

Lovely location, couldn't ask for a more relaxing, wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at the Lakehouse and enjoyed every minute of it - from the wonderful outside area to the plentiful space in the house. There were six of us and my little grandson. The house is still a work in progress, but it is comfortable and cozy and there are several rooms on the main floor where you could go and spend a few quiet minutes if you wanted to. Never felt crowded. I loved the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. I only wish there was a better access to the water and a little beach area. But I would go back any time.

Girls weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

The lovely cottage is clean, spacious, and filled with beautiful decor. It was perfect for our girls weekend getaway. Sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine while listening to the sound of the waves was very relaxing for all of us. The owner was very attentive and helpful. The place is also filled with everything we need, and we couldn't ask for a better location. Thanks again for a fabulous weekend.

Great time at The Lakehouse

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I rented the Lakehouse for the first two weeks in July. It was a great place to host our children, grandchildren and others who dropped by. The views of the lake from the front rooms were like those on a ship in the ocean. The large property provided plenty of space for the younger kids to play and imagine. Five bedrooms with very good beds, many comfortable couches, laundry facilities, and a completely stocked kitchen helped to give us all the comforts a cottage should. Behind the garage and overlooking the lake is a beautiful patio to while away the afternoon with a book or a crossword and be absorbed by the sounds and sights of the water, the breezes and the sun.
