Great stay

  • 5 of 5

The house is great with almost everything you need, plenty of beds, nice kitchen with a lot of cooking ware, fast internet and large living for parties. Besides, it's located at a quite convenient location, 20-25 mins drive to Killington.

Excellent for large group

  • 5 of 5

The Old Horton House is an excellent place for a large group. I think it could sleep 15 pretty easily. It is a large, old, farmhouse. The living room (where the TV is) and the room with the fireplace (where the record collection is) are big and comfortable. There is a big dining table that sits at least 8 comfortably. The bathrooms are unusual, but clean and fine. The original house probably didn't have bathrooms. A nice side porch off the kitchen allowed for hanging out with your morning coffee, or an adult beverage. The appliances and the kitchen utensils were more than adequate for our weekend stay. Our only wish was that there was a grill of some kind, but we brought our own and Louise was fine with that, so there wasn't an issue. It is quiet, clean, and comfortable and less than 15+ minutes to Pico, and about 20 to the Killington Access Road. Maybe 10 minutes to Sugar & Spice, for a great breakfast.

Louise was attentive and considerate. While we didn't need her, I have no doubt that she would have been of great assistance if we did.

Perfect location and setup for our stay.

  • 5 of 5

Our group was in town for a wedding at the Mountain Top Inn. This house was just down the road and provided an extremely easy location, both in access to the resort and back to town in Killington/Woodstock. The house was in very clean condition with clear instructions on handling recycling and refuse. All beds were made and towels were provided in both bathrooms. Extra sheets were thoughtfully laid out. Our group enjoyed hanging out in the large kitchen with the barstools and especially on the side porch in the Adirondack chairs spying on the neighbor elk. Louise was also kind enough to loan us an iron for our wedding attire.

A perfect spot for our group!

Great time!!

  • 5 of 5

The house may have been older but you never would have even known. It was comfortable and easy to find. The house was big enough to fit everyone comfortably and close enough to get to Killington for the first lift up the mountain. The house got our needs perfectly and really had no complaints. The owner was very nice and informative. I would recommend this property to friends for a cheap but comfortable ski cottage.
