The only thing bad about this place is having to leave! Great location...not far from the interstate, well equipped with anything you need, view is amazing, and very clean! You will not regret staying here! The owner was super nice and helpful! We will definitely be staying here again next year!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this house very much. The home is in a very quiet and wonderful setting. The house was equipped with everything needed, and then some! The owners were very accommodating and allowed us to check in two days earlier than planned. It is located at the very end of a long road in a wooded setting. We saw deer everyday either leaving the house or returning. If anything is needed, we recommend future guests to go to Toccoa, GA. Toccoa is a short drive a few miles away. There is a wide variety of dining and shopping. Everything in the house is neatly labeled, and we were provided with extra essentials. There were PLENTY of extra towels and linens, but we brought our own for use. It was suggested to use the distilled water that the keurig coffee maker makes for drinking/ cooking. Thankfully, there is an "old fashioned" coffee maker for use (WE APPRECIATED THIS :) A LOT). We brought a big pack of water for drinking and making coffee. It was nice sitting on the screened in porch swing every morning drinking coffee and watching squirrels and deer. There is absolutely NO cell phone/internet service at this house, and if you are looking to get away from technology, we HIGHLY recommend this home! Our phones ring and ding all day-every day and this was just the R&R that we needed. The owners provide a landline for use which was very generous. There are only two minor suggestions that we can provide. The home needs some kind of blinds/curtains in the front part of the house and the side porch. This will help add a little more privacy for future guests, and help save on energy costs. Also, the bed was too Firm in the master to our liking, but we got used to it after the first couple of nights. Everything else was perfect and we will be back maybe in the spring or fall of next year when the weather is cooler which will make fishing more opportune.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay this past week at the house. Everything was neatly labeled and organized. The owners allowed us to come two days earlier than originally planned. The house had everything we needed. There were a few extra supplies, but we did have to buy trash bags and paper towels. No biggie! Although the we brought and used our own towels, there were certainly plenty provided. Our phones ring non stop with calls and emails all day everyday. If you are looking to disconnect from today's technology, this place is where you need to go!! It was wonderful not having our phones go off all the time. There is a landline that the owners kindly provided for use if needed. The property is located at the end of a long road away from noise and congestion. It is super relaxing and VERY quiet. We saw Deer everyday either leaving or retuning to the house. If you stay at this house, and need to go into town for eating or supplies, Toccoa, GA. Is just a few miles away with a wide variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and a Walmart. We plan on coming back next time either in the spring or fall when the fish are biting better, it was just too hot this trip, but it was all in all a wonderful time! If there are any suggestions, it would be to add blinds or curtains to the front and side of the house with the screened in porch, it would help save on energy costs and add more privacy for future guests. Also, the bed was kind of firm for our preference, but everything else was perfect!
We had a wonderful stay. The house is very nice; it was clean, and there was more than enough space for the 5 of us. The covered dock was great - perfect for relaxing on and for docking our canoe. The lake level was a little low, so we needed to step up on cinderblocks to get onto the dock. The lake is beautiful and clean. We enjoyed swimming in it and puttering around with the canoe. I especially enjoyed exploring the shore on the opposite side of the lake, since there is a good amount of wilderness there. We would love to return to this place for another vacation in the future.
We spend 4 nights and it was overall a nice vacation. The house is remote and its peaceful and quiet. It has a private dock and the boat lounge is close and that was quite helpful as we brought a boat to fish on the lake.
The house is pet friendly and that was awesome because we could bring our dog and that made out trip even better.
I only gave it three stars because there is absolutely no internet around and it made things quite difficult for us.
We recently stayed at this property and it was quite possibly the best property we have stayed at. The location was perfect, the house was just right and the neighbors were very friendly.
