A Very Merry French Christmas

  • 4 of 5

Spent almost a month in this lovely Marais apartment. Many period architectural details, including 18th century windows and original wood beam ceilings. Very spacious for a Parisian apt. Bathroom is roomie enough for two ladies getting ready for a fancy night out. Kitchen has all the basics. I did have to add a set of champagne glasses, and I did have to get creative working with what was available in the kitchen when making a roasted Chapon for Christmas dinner, but it was fantastic in the end. The apt is very conveniently located just a short walk to the Bastille metro station. The Marais neighborhood has always been my favorite and it's one of Paris' loveliest. Many amazing restaurants and cocktails bars frequented by the locals. Best shopping in Paris, especially on Sundays when the tiny medieval streets are closed to cars and become pedestrian walks. Nothing in the apt. is brand new, some of the furniture is most likely antique and has the quicks and characteristics of its age, but everything is usable. Apt has a very traditional vintage Paris feel. I'm obsessed with the set of folding chairs provided for additional seating, I want a set for myself. Wifi and all amenities worked just fine. Note to Sophie: One of the lightbulbs to the left of the bathroom mirror went out, and when I changed the bulb it went out again right away.

Great Location and Good Accomodations

  • 3 of 5

The location is great; the apartment is roomy enough for 4 adults if you are ok to share a bathroom. There is a washer/dryer and good size kitchen for Parsian standards. My suggestion to the owner would be to update the furniture as it is relatively worn down. There were no regular pillows, but they had large decorative pillows to use as regular pillows. Also, one of the beds isn't immensely comfortable. The property manager Karim was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this place, but if the owner updated the furniture and got regular pillows for the beds, it would be SO MUCH nicer.

Perfect Location to enjoy Paris!

  • 4 of 5

Charming flat from which to explore Paris. We stayed three nights, with 4 adults and found the apartment well supplied for a short tourist stay close to the Marais. Convenient metro station st Bastille. Overall building well maintained and friendly atmosphere. Would stay here again.

Charming apartment in one of the best areas in Paris

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is definitely a five star for charm and location! This area is packed with interesting and delicous restaurants, unique shops, a lovely park and easy access to the Metro. Plus you can easily walk to so many attractions! You'll find plenty of locals on the streets yet most of the staff in shops and restaurants speak some English. Access to the apartment is behind two huge locked gates, and there's a lovely courtyard inside. The bedrooms overlook the courtyard so even when it's busy (we were there on Bastille Day) it's still quiet for sleeping. Such a great find! Karim, the manager, is very friendly and flexible. The beds are comfy and there were lots of basics in the kitchen. We had four wonderful nights there and felt secure leaving our 11 year old in charge of his younger sister to go out for a few romantic dinners! There's a very French combo washer and drier for travellers with fewer outfits and a dishwasher! Lots of guide books too. The plumbing in the bathroom is a bit old, but it works fine. I would happily stay here again!

Just as expected. Thanks!

  • 4 of 5

Great location, beautiful little courtyard. The beds and furniture are older and thinned out, but the pillows and blankets were nice. The bathtub area could use some bleaching up and a curved shower rod. Nice size bathroom, good light, quiet but convenient to the metro. We would stay again and recommend it to friends.

Memorable Christmas in Paris

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this quaint apartment in the Marais for our recent Christmas holiday. Traveling with our three teen/college age children, it was important to have a good sleeping arrangement, and the second bedroom with three beds was perfect for us. The kitchen is small, but well stocked with staples and everything you need to make a simple breakfast or Christmas dinner, which we did! We loved being in the Marais and walked around this trendy, interesting neighborhood. The metro is just a couple blocks away which is so convenient for exploring all the Paris sites. The caretaker was most helpful, meeting us on our arrival as well as arranging transportation for us to the airport for our departure. We would definitely recommend this apartment and hope to return!

This apartment is in a fantastic neibourghood where you will enjoy walking and visiting the local museums (Picasso, Beaubourg, Carnavalet.

You are near the Line 1 of the Paris Metro that can bring you directly to the Louvre, the Concorde, the Champs-Elysées and La Défense.

The flat is located in the heart of the Marais near the St Paul and Bastille Metro stops (on line 1) and near the Chemin Vert Metro stop (on line 8).

You can also use several Bus Lines (20, 29, 87 etc...).

For croissants, there are many options on both sides of the street. For seafood and brasserie enjoyment, BOFINGER is around the corner.

For a breakfast on a parisian terrasse, We would recommend MA BOURGOGNE on the Place des Vosges.

If you are into fresh produce markets, you will enjoy the markets on the Blvd Richard-Lenoir on Thursdays and Sundays.
