Why Rod and Theresa Williams chose Mt. Hood, The Gorge

Beautiful Modern luxury view home in the center of Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. This is a vacation location unlike any other in the world. We started coming here because of the world class windsurfing. But the area is also known for the year round skiing on Mt. Hood, spectacular scenery, pristine wilderness, several nearby rivers for boating, rafting and fishing, local wineries and orchards, fantastic restaurants, and plenty of shopping and nightlife. Even with all of these tourist amenities, Hood River still maintains a friendly and welcoming small town feel that will make you feel right at home.

What makes this townhome unique

Plenty of room and amenities to sleep up to six, and entertain up to eight people. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet within walking distance to downtown Hood River.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The furniture is comfortable and allows for views of the mountain. The beds were very comfortable. The pictures on the walls were beautiful and from the locale. The bottle of wine was a surprise and was very much appreciated! That was an especially nice touch. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to find what we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and yet in very close walking distance to some of our favorite Hood River dining placeslike Brian's Pourhouse and the 3 Rivers Grill. Also there were coffee roasters and coffee places nearby, and Two Mountains brew pub.Really it was an easy walk through lovely neighborhoods to get nearly anywhere. We enjoyed hiking Catherine Creek and several other places nearby. We also drove to the Conboy Lake Wildlife Refuge, and walked around that. (It's pretty far to go, however).

We liked that the table was collapsible making it easier to play bridge. Our friends loved the place as well, but they did mention that they would like larger, thicker towels in the bathrooms. We were fine with the towels. We liked the blinds in the bedrooms which made it possible to darken the rooms for sleeping.

Great home for couples, walk to downtown, clean

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this condo in May - two couples. It was so nice to have two separate masters so each couple could have their own bathroom and shower. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. The house was very clean and beds comfortable. The towels and bedding were very clean. The owners were quickly responsive to any advance questions we had. The location has great views in a quiet neighborhood but you are still close enough to walk downtown. If you don't want to walk, Hood River has Uber and it was easy to access. We used the garage to park the car for the duration of our stay.

The only slight downfall was the TV satellite would go out on occasion. The guys were watching hockey and basketball playoffs so it was a slight annoyance. We aren't there to watch TV and that was the only minor complaint.

I would easily stay here again if we visited or recommend this to any couples travelling together. The home is on a hillside so there are steps. If you are a runner or biker, this location is close enough to visit the paths down by the water.

We loved the condo and Hood River! Thanks so much.

Owner's Response: Sorry about the occasional satellite TV drop outs. The neighbor' s tree has started to grow into the path of Satellite dish. I am going up there this week with tree trimming tools to take care of it!

Quiet, comfortable and attractive

  • 4 of 5

Nice views from large picture windows, comfortable seating and dining areas. The only thing at street level is the parking. I brought lots of thIngs that I had to pack up the stairs, and they are quite steep. Hopefully, the dishwasher will be repaired. I spent a lot of time hand washing dishes. Having plastic wrap and aluminum foil available would have been nice. Most of the cookware is Teflon. The keyless entry was very convenient, especially since there were several of us there coming and going at different times. Being walkablely close to downtown was very nice. Garage was clean and free of clutter. My party and I had a very nice stay and I would stay there again if it were available.

Just as pictured - loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Modern home in a very convenient location close to main sights in downtown Hood River. If the weather had cooperated, we would've done lots more walking! The home is very well appointed with nice beds in both bedrooms and comfy living room chairs. The view from living room and top floor master is a great added bonus. Kitchen is well appointed and there is a BBQ in back if you desire. We felt that the property was very clean upon our arrival! If you want a great outpost during your Hood River stay, this is it. Rod is easy going and is readily available for any questions. Such a smooth visit, we hope to be back again next year.

Very nice property, everything was as described in the add.

  • 5 of 5

We rented the property for seven nights with another couple. The two bedrooms and two full baths were everything we needed. The kitchen and living area was well stocked with new or like new appliances and furniture. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, even a work station for my laptop. I have used rentals such as this several times and for the first time had a garage that was open for our use, nice. The area was nice with everything, restaurants, grocery and gas stations close. Didn't spend much time in town because we took day trips every day. Had a good experience with the owner. Our deposit was returned promptly.

The only negative was the view from the back deck, but we didn't spend a lot of time there so it wasn't a problem.

Overall a very nice stay.
