Why Michael and Joli Allison chose Blue Ridge Mountains

The view, the view, and the view. Oh, and did we mention the view? While you can make day trips fairly quickly and easily to area attractions, this cabin is located in a wilderness community and is perfect for those who wish to "get away from it all". Four wheel drive vehicles are *required*.

Awesome!!!

  • 5 of 5

The views were gorgeous. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub after a long day hiking to different waterfalls, horseback riding, and white water rafting, Definitely need a 4WD to navigate the road into the cabin. Saw many different birds, a few small bats, and even a bear one night after a short rain shower. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Absolutely fabulous!!!

  • 5 of 5

The location and views were stunning. The amenities in the cabin, such as the pool table and foosball table were definite plusses. The cabin was more than the photos did it justice. The cabin was a lot bigger and more spacious than what we thought. The interior of the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. It was in great condition. The exterior was well maintained and gave a genuine log cabin experience. It was everything we had hopef for and more! The only regret we had was that we should have stayed longer!!!

Mountain tranquility!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this mountain cabin. The kids loved chasing the lizards that were outside every morning. There is so much wild life to see at this mountain cabin, we got to see lizards, snakes, opossum, turkey, birds (many different kinds), a coyote and above all we seen a BLACK BEAR. It was so exciting to see a bear in the wild, he (and the coyote on a different day) ran across the road when we were coming up the mountain. The house is very comfortable and well stocked, plenty of extra sheets and towels. The kids had plenty of things to keep them occupied while the adults aw'd over the view. Sunny days you can see the beautiful mountains for miles on cloudy days we sat in the living the room or on the deck and watched the clouds wash over the cabin. It made it look like you were floating in the clouds. We explored Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Grandfather mountain (our favorite), Mount Mitchell and numerous waterfalls. Joli and Michael are so nice and respond to any questions right away. We will definitely be back!!!

We loved it there was a different view every 10 min. From clouds clear sky rainbows, a snake, cool lizards, deer and the rainbow topped it all. Everything was supplied very well at the home. Could not have been any better. Thank you very much!!! Hollingsworth family

The location was a truly outstanding destination and views not exaggerated.

  • 5 of 5

Along with the outstanding views and mountain top location comes a challenging drive. It is not overstated; does require an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. Your vehicle transmission and brakes will be taxed, going up and down the mountain. We had good weather; I can't imagine what it would be like with snow or sleet/ice which followed our time there. For us, I consider our weather very fortunate and it was a wonderful country mountain Christmas!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to share about your experience at our cabin. It is our sincere desire that our guests enjoy every moment of their stay. Yes, you are completely accurate about the need for a 4WD vehicle. Otherwise the road is too challenging. But that road is what gives our place all the peace and quiet and the breathtaking views. We are so happy that you liked staying with us. Thank you again for choosing our cabin and writing such a sweet review. You are welcome back anytime! :-)

a great get away

  • 5 of 5

if you are looking for a spectacular view and piece and quite, this is your place.a comfy log cabin on a side of the mountains with a hot tub makes for a fun, relaxing night. Definitely, heed the recommendation of having a 4wd or light truck with good tires. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed. I would recommend to bring your own firewood and kindling. about 45 minutes from chimney rock and lake lure we spent a complete day there, which was absolutely amazing and fun. the owners, Michael and Joli , are awesome and pleasant to talk to and will a commendate any questions or concerns you may have. all and all this was a great trip for my family that everyone enjoyed and I do believe I will be scheduling another lovely get away in the near future. thank yall so much
