You might be thinking, 'For that price, there must be something wrong with it!' But look at our consistent 5 Star Reviews and you'll see that it is simply a wonderful value and a comfortable, fun place to stay.
This home has personality! It is very unique, charming and private. This mountain home on the golf course in spectacular Buena Vista is completely yours - no one else lives on the property and no close neighbors. It's comfortable and sunny, clean and nicely furnished. There are plenty of places for people to spread out or come together. It is always a hit with our guests!
"Buena Vista Home" has all the amenities for a relaxing and fun vacation. There are gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and golf course, 3 large and private decks for lounging, barbecuing or star-gazing. 55' TV and High Speed WiFi. Down comforters are on all beds in the winter and festive quilts for the summer. We provide many essentials that other vacation properties don't, such as coffee and tea, spices, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, dish and laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner, paper towels, napkins and toilet paper, and propane for the grill. You're on vacation, you shouldn't have to shop so much!
The Living and Dining areas are under a Vaulted Ceiling separated from the well-equipped kitchen by a 4 seat bar. Gas range. The dining table seats 6; sofa and chairs by the gas fireplace. At 8000' even summer mornings are chilly, so a fire can be sweet!
The main floor Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, its own full bath, TV/DVD and sliding glass doors to the West Deck.
The family room is a big, passive solar area with sofa sleeper, big comfy chairs, 55' flat screen TV, game table and wonderful views through the 3 walls of windows.
The second floor bedroom has two twin beds (which can be pushed together to make a king) and a bunk bed, as well as its own Large Balcony (10' x 20') for beautiful mountain views. A full bath is down the hall. The third bedroom is a private attic loft with a 'secret' stairway. (Please be aware this is an angled ladder.) It has a full bed, two big skylights and two windows.
Collegiate Peaks Golf Course is privately owned, but open to the public. The greens fees are very reasonable. Pedestrians are allowed to walk the course off-golf hours (before 7:00 am and after 8:00 pm. NO DOGS ANYTIME.)
As you enter Chaffee County from Trout Creek Pass and see 14,000'+ Mt. Princeton, Mt. Yale, and Mt. Antero there is a road sign that states, "Now THIS is Colorado!" And so it is. Enjoy!
We were living our dream when we bought this cool mountain house in '93. We enjoyed BV until we received an opportunity to move overseas (Egypt). We weren't sure where we would land when we came back to the USA, so we didn't sell the house and we are really glad we didn't. VRBO has worked out perfectly! We love this house and so does everyone who stays there! There's just something about it. You'll see....
Maura Youle purchased this house in 1993
Great Rental! Our family needed a little R&R and chose to stay here with our 3 kids and 1 family dog. Great location, great accommodations, beautiful views. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. This house worked perfectly for us. All the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of clean fresh linens. Kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of room to seat everyone at meal time and chill time on couches. This rental had quite a few extra little touches that we just loved. A solar room. An upstairs hideout with futon that can only be accessed by the ladder. 3 decks, 1 in front, 1 in back, 1 off one of the bedrooms, and at least 2 of the decks have patio furniture. Pretty rope lights set on timer to come on in the kitchen. A little wooden pullout step under kitchen sink, ha ha, my kids got to help do dishes (happy mama) Gas fireplace, games for the kids, dog mat/bowls, windows throughout the house to let the warm sun in. All furniture was comfy. We loved the layout and unique architecture of this house. Quiet neighborhood. I never get tired of watching the wildlife. Would love to stay again. Highly recommend. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Very comfortable home with plenty of room for our family. Kitchen was well equipped and the property manager was very hospitable. Just enough privacy on the edge of town, but still close to things. We enjoyed seeing the deer every day!
My sisters went for a reunion together. It's so peaceful and quiet there. Great for relaxation. The house is gorgeous inside and furnished so that you don't bring much but clothes. We were amazed at how the deer were tame enough to be so close in your yard. We made a game of counting deer just on the road that led to town! City market (grocery store) was close enough to make a quick run. If you want to feed the chipmunks at the crossing in St. Elmo, bring your own sunflower seeds if you go during off season. The mercantile store is closed. Salida is such a fun town-so artsy and old fashioned. The views are incredible in whatever direction you go! The house, the town, the peace, there is nothing more to say. If you want to get away and live in comfort and peace, get up in the morning with a hot cup of coffee, step out on the deck, say hello to the deer, take a deep breath of mountain air and stare at the beauty around you, then this is it! Thank you Maura! From the Boone girls.
We rented this house to celebrate my hubs birthday. The house was perfect for accommodating the 6 adults, 1 infant and dogs. Beautiful home, quiet location and conveniently located to any stores that you may need. Also only 10 minutes or so from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Maura, the owner, was responsive and worked with us on all requests. We'll definitely be back!
What a great place to stay in Buena Vista! This lovely home is comfy, roomy, and has amazing mountain views. It's very private but only minutes to town. We loved being on the golf course - it's great to have the expansive greens against the backdrop of the mountains. And a perfect pathway to walk the dog at night. Loved the upstairs TV room with all those windows and room to kick back. But the upper deck is awesome for watching the sunset. The kitchen is very well stocked and we cooked each night we were there. The master bed is really comfortable, the fireplace nice and toasty, and the laundry room and boot tray right by the front door was very convenient for taking off our hiking boots when we came in. The home was also immaculate. Maura could not have been easier to work with too. We will definately stay here again!
This home was perfect for our family of 7. We came from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for our sons wedding. The view of the 14ers was amazing. Beautiful sunsets. Cute little town, that Buena Vista! Thank you to these wonderful owners for sharing their home with us!
