You might be thinking, 'For that price, there must be something wrong with it!' But look at our consistent 5 Star Reviews and you'll see that it is simply a wonderful value and a comfortable, fun place to stay.
This home has personality! It is very unique, charming and private. This mountain home on the golf course in spectacular Buena Vista is completely yours - no one else lives on the property and no close neighbors. It's comfortable and sunny, clean and nicely furnished. There are plenty of places for people to spread out or come together. It is always a hit with our guests!
"Buena Vista Home" has all the amenities for a relaxing and fun vacation. There are gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and golf course, 3 large and private decks for lounging, barbecuing or star-gazing. 55' TV and Free WiFi. Down comforters are on all beds in the winter and festive quilts for the summer. We provide many essentials that other vacation properties don't, such as coffee and tea, spices, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, dish and laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner, paper towels, napkins and toilet paper, and propane for the grill. You're on vacation, you shouldn't have to shop so much!
The Living and Dining areas are under a Vaulted Ceiling separated from the well-equipped kitchen by a 4 seat bar. Gas range and ice maker. The dining table seats 6; sofa and chairs by the gas fireplace. At 8000' even summer mornings are chilly, so a fire can be sweet!
The main floor Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, its own full bath, TV/DVD and sliding glass doors to the West Deck.
The family room is a big, passive solar area with sofa sleeper, big comfy chairs, 55' flat screen TV, game table and wonderful views through the 3 walls of windows.
The second floor bedroom has two twin beds (which can be pushed together to make a king) and a bunk bed, as well as its own Large Balcony (10' x 20') for beautiful mountain views. A full bath is down the hall.
The third bedroom is a private attic loft with a 'secret' stairway. (Please be aware this is an angled ladder.) It has a full bed, two big skylights and two windows. Kids especially love this room!
Collegiate Peaks Golf Course is privately owned, but open to the public. The greens fees are very reasonable. Pedestrians are allowed to walk the course off-golf hours (before 7:00 am and after 8:00 pm. NO DOGS ANYTIME)
As you enter Chaffee County from Trout Creek Pass and see 14,000'+ Mt. Princeton, Mt. Yale, and Mt. Antero there is a road sign that states, "Now THIS is Colorado!" And so it is. Enjoy!

About Maura Youle
We were living our dream when we bought this cool mountain house in '93. We enjoyed BV until we received an opportunity to move overseas (Egypt). We weren't sure where we would land when we came back to the USA, so we didn't sell the house and we are really glad we didn't. VRBO has worked out perfectly! We love this house and so does everyone who stays there! There's just something about it. You'll see....

Unique vacation getaway in a beautiful location
We had a wonderful and relaxing time. There was more than enough room for our family to spread out and our son absolutely loved the "secret room." We highly recommend this home and look forward to staying here again in the future.
Great value! Two families shared the space.
What a great time we had! The owner was friendly and responsive when I had a question. Our kids enjoyed hanging out in the bunk room. The kitchen was well stocked. Coffee on the deck with friends was a plus. We will need to come back in the summer when we can spend more time on the three decks. Our little ski weekend trip was just what we needed. Thanks for sharing your house.
Big TV with good seating, comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. The secret room is very cool. We'll have to come back in the summer to take advantage of those 3 huge decks!
Quirky house, really nice owner
We had a holiday family reunion with 5 adults & 5 kids staying in this property. The house has a very nice master br with bath on first level, a " dorm" room with 2 twins & bunkbed and full bath on 2nd level, and a 3rd br with double futon style bed in an attic add on room. Getting to this room requires climbing a ladder built into a closet, so it's definitely tricky. It works for older kids, or in our case an "extra" adult who was happy to escape the crowd! There is a sofa bed in the "solarium", which is located on another level and is a really lovely room with big tv and several comfy chairs w/ ottomans, perfect for watching football games etc. The owner provides a lot of extra amenities which we enjoyed, including Holiday decorations that we really appreciated. Kitchen included large decanters of both regular & decaf coffee, filters, a large assortment of teas, spices, and condiments in the fridge, etc. Bathrooms had soap, shampoo, and facial cleanser cloths, another nice touch. They also provided a recycle can, and a separate enclosed shed for trash & recycles. There is an enclosed garage as well. The kitchen has updated gas stove, fridge with ice maker, and everything we needed for feeding 10. Laundry room has updated washer/ dryer with detergent provided. There were stacks of towels etc, and lots of extra blankets & pillows as well. The location is near town, on a golf course, and offers spectacular views of the mountains. The house is well maintained, not fancy, and would really be enhanced by a half bath. We had one glitch when the heater stopped working on our first night there, but property manager and owner both responded as quickly as possible and had the problem resolved within a day. Space heaters are provided as well as the gas fireplace and warm duvets on the beds, so we didn't suffer long! Mild temps during our visit helped too. We were only 45 minutes from Monarch ski area which is a little secret over the holidays, not nearly as busy as the ski areas close to I-70. Another secret is traveling from Denver on Hwy 285 into Buena Vista & avoid I-70 altogether; we avoided the traffic & in one case total shutdown. The Princeton hot springs is another activity that we all enjoyed. Buena Vista & Salida are 2 growing towns that have restaurants & entertainment without the crowds of other Colorado tourist areas. We really enjoyed our stay & property owner goes the extra mile to provide amenities for all.
Wonderful views, great house
Well maintained, extra clean. Kitchen well stocked with spices, condiments, etc. Conveniently located; close to town , parks, river front, and hot springs. Property manager very helpful.
Comfortable home at a great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was exactly as described, very well equipped and quite comfortable. The house is located close to downtown Buena Vista with excellent access to recreation roads and trails. Highly recommended!
Kayaking/White Water Rafting. 2 Hot Springs resorts within 15 minutes.
