About The Owner

I lived in Tahoe for 10+ years as skiing got me out there after graduating college on the east coast, but my wife got me back to the east coast once we decided to start a family and be close to our parents. We still love Tahoe, so we kept our house and decided to vacation rental it... Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

The Owner purchased this chalet in 2003

Clean and well equipped cabin near everything

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin during our stay in July. It is very light (we have stayed in some in the same complex that were very dark), clean, and has everything you will need. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom have been recently redone and are very nice. They make good use of the space so it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. We enjoyed its proximity to stores and beaches, the casinos were just a short drive, and there is an amazing little stream at the end of the complex that is peaceful and fun to explore. I would definitely recommend this chalet to people wanting a cozy and reasonably priced place to stay in Incline Village.

Fantastic stay at Lake Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

We love this property and would love to come back and rent here again. There's plenty of space and would probably fit 4 adults and 3 kids comfortably. We like the fact that the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. The fridge also has all kinds of sauces and spices. The hot tub was nice also; we were taking the hot tub while it was snowing on our heads. Fantastic experience. We love Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, and this property. Will come back again for sure.

Good for the price - 3.5 stars

  • 3 of 5

I and my two girls went up to Tahoe for ski week. The cabin is one of many in the same area. It is detached, but your neighbors are very close. Think of detached town homes. About 3 feet of snow came down while we were there, so it was a true winter cabin.

The good:

- Price is very reasonable

- No problem with heat. The downstairs bedroom uses a small space heater which worked fine. The rest of the unit is basically one big heated room + loft, and was very warm (especially upstairs).

- Updated kitchen (small but good). Small dishwasher is there.

- Large dining room table

- HD TV with lots of channels

- Getting keys was no issue

- Owner fairly responsive via HomeAway app

- Hot water was fine

- No problems parking

- Furniture was comfortable

The middle:

- Location is in Incline Village, but given there was a lot of snow coming down, we didn't walk anywhere. It still would have been a bit of a hike to get to anything like a grocery store or restaurants. It is just a few minutes from Diamond Peak by car, though.

- Didn't use the hot tub (it was covered with snow)

- The fireplace was out of order (the owner did warn us - it was due to the snow). It looked to be more of a Franklin stove.

- It wasn't a problem for us - a family - but I wouldn't go there with multiple couples. One couple will have no real sound privacy - they will be in the open loft. Another could have the one real bedroom (with a door) downstairs but it only has twin beds. If there are 6 people, 4 people will be in the loft - one couple on a futon.

- It is a bit dated/worn, but that was OK given the price.

- There was a lot of stuff in the fridge already like condiments and such. I think people just leave their leftovers (not food leftovers, but other things). We brought our own, though.

- Could use more lighting in the living room

The not so good:

- Wifi was very slow, and for practical purposes basically did not work. My girls were unhappy about this. Verizon signal was spotty. At least I had an excuse not to do work while on vacation.

- Lights burned out in the bathroom, and there were no replacements. We had to put a lamp in the bathroom.

- Tons of towels, but no wash cloths.

- No good place to put skis and equipment inside the unit without tracking snow/ice everywhere inside (floors are carpeted, so things were wet for a while after coming back from the slopes)

Even with the issues the place worked for us. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Comfortable and cozy

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this comfortable place for the presidents day weekend with our two kids and thier friends. It was cozy and warm and for 6 people quite roomy. The washer and dryer was a plus and the place stayed very warm with the fireplace and the hot tub was a must after a day in the snow. The kids discovered a sledding area in the parking lot, I don't think it was intended for that, but with all the snow it turned out to be an awesome sledding area without having to get in the car. It was easy to find and a close drive to town. On a side note don't forget to pack underwear. The town of Incline Village does not sell them. My son learned the hard way. Anyhow very nice place for a not so expensive stay. I would recommend staying here.

Perfect for our family

  • 4 of 5

Our family really enjoyed staying at the Cozy Mountain Chalet. We have stayed at the Village at Squaw over the past few years, and, while this property isn't as fancy, there were several things we liked about staying in this cottage over our stays at Squaw. It was great to have a place with it's own outdoor space. After long days of skiing and snowboarding, the kids were able to continue to play outdoors in the snow, with tired mom and dad watching happily from the windows. It was great to have our own washer/dryer to clean and dry damp ski clothes at the end of the day. We enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi, making our own meals and watching family movies in the cozy living space. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom have been recently renovated and look great. Also, great location--5 minutes from Diamond Peak ski resort and about 10 minutes from King's Beach. There was a lot of new snow prior to our arrival and the paths to the home were nicely shoveled--we had no problems getting in and out. Would definitely recommend this home to others, great for families.

Enjoy your Lake Tahoe vacation in picturesque Incline Village on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. White sand beaches, two beautiful 18-hole Robert Trent Jones golf courses, 27 tennis courts, multiple SKI areas, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, summer music & arts festival, and so much more.... The atmosphere in North Lake is more low-key and laid-back, contrary to the casino lights of South Lake. But if gaming is what you're looking for, the Hyatt Lodge & Casino and North stateline casinos are right there in addition to numerous restaurants and bars.
