About Frank Finken/owner- Julie McPherson/Property Manager
At the time the house was purchased in 2002 the house was in poor shape and needed serious improvement. During the reconstruction papers were found dating back to 1872 in the walls. At the time I was working in Law Enforcement, and I along with my wife we came in from the east side of the state almost every weekend until the house was finished for that first summer. Since I retired in 2011, I have begun my transition to fulfill what I set out to do and that was to reside in the town, be more hands on, available and accountable in providing my investments in the community as I did in my career. I am here more and I am enjoying the change of pace as to what was, and is now my town to enjoy.

Why Frank Finken/owner- Julie McPherson/Property Manager chose South Haven Charter Township
This home purchase was a great investment in an area that we fell in love with the town and the way of life. We enjoyed coming here ourselves, so we took the plunge not only to be used for others to enjoy but for our family too from time to time. The location was ideal located perfectly a three short blocks from downtown, four from the Lake, we parked and walked everywhere. It was a challenge to restore which was truly a labor of love. The plan was to set our roots and lay down the foundation for the future.

This house is in great location, walking distance to Kids Corner pl playground and downtown.
House has a great backyard, front porch and great room for kids sleeping. Downsize is both bathrooms on main floor, could use new mattresses,
Enough space for 10. Good layout indoors and outdoors.
Great value for a family get together. Good access to town and beach.
Glad you returned again this Summer and hope you consider next. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Great location, clean comfortable home
Loved staying in this home. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils, dishes, etc. The force porch was a bonus along with the fenced yard. The location was perfect to walk to the beach and town.
Thank you for sharing your time in our home. Hope you come back again!
Our group consisted of grandparents, parents and toddlers. This great location allowed us to do many fun things on foot. We walked to the beach, the town and Kid's Corner. Those strollers got a workout!
Our only suggestion for the future is to install more noise dampening in the house; otherwise, no complaints at all.
Great place for a family get-together
This house provided everything we needed for a week with kids and adults. It easily accommodates 10 people and the house has a nice flow from living area to kitchen. The outside patio is large and includes seating and grilling space and equipment for the group. Kitchen had everything necessary to do your own cooking. Easy walk to beach and downtown. Take your bikes to make commute even easier. Nice to have washer and dryer also. House is priced well for what is provided.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and for detailing all you found a positive attribute to a vacation in South Haven. Please consider returning. Would love to have you back.
Nice autumn vacation !
Enjoyed our stay in your charming historical house. It was clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the notebook with the pictures and history of the house, however the phone number for contact was wrong. We needed to contact someone due to not getting wifi to work and not having enough towels for our guests. (Only one bathroom had towels) It was a nice walk to Michigans ocean and downtown! Thank you for sharing your house!
Ice Festival in January, local wineries, boat rides down by pier, water activities including paddle boarding, wind surfing and canoeing down the Black River. Walking or riding bikes on Kal Haven Trail. Catch first run movies at the Michigan movie theater in downtown for under $4 and popcorn for 50 cents if you bring your own tub(they are provided at home for you), children's park, seasonal fruit 'pick your own' and very dog friendly town.
