Your home away from home is located in a building that dates back to the end of the Middle Ages, in a quiet sidestreet of the Marais, the heart of Paris.
On the ground floor on the backside of the house, you have a double bed, bathroom with shower & WC, a fully equipped kitchen, a 19th century secrétaire desk, and a folding table with two chairs. It gives access to a private patio with a table and two chairs where you can have (if weather permits) your meals or your glass of wine after a day strolling through the city.
The exposed beams and its style of refined elegance give it that old-world feel.
The apartment location was great. The bed is comfortable and the shower is hot. The fact that I did not need to climb stairs was also important. The only drawback for me was the noise. The people upstairs and coming and going were noisy well into the night. Other than that the place was fine. The kitchen is tiny but I did not use it. Internet connection was perfect, no problems.
From the moment Sebastien, the friendly manager, opened the door to this flat, I knew I had made the perfect choice. It is exactly as described: quiet, refined elegance, in the heart of Paris. Chris, the owner, answered my emails promptly. The flat is small--but the layout is lovely, and with the outdoor space, this makes the place so cozy. It is located on a quiet lane and is really private. Excellent espresso is just around the corner up Rue Rambuteau at Terres de Cafe. And the Pompidou is a short walk away, as are all the delights of Le Marais, from quaint shops to fine cafes. The apartment was impeccably furnished, and perfectly clean--with a tiny yet well-equipped kitchen, modern bath [shower has great water pressure!], fresh linens and towels--and an atmosphere that truly says 'Paris.' Ideal for one, and romantic for two. I hope to return for a longer stay.
We had a truly fun stay at this apartment. Though small, the layout of the interior was an excellent use of space and we did not feel cramped. The many books and the secretaire gave it a cozy feel and were very useful as well. The location was perfect for us. We love staying in the Marais and this was just a few steps away from everything we needed. However, it was also very clean, and QUIET--nice after a busy day. We would stay there again and/or recommend this to a couple.
The flat is a short walk from the Pompidou Centre, in an area with many places to eat and great transport links. It is wonderfully cozy, warm with all necessary amenities and even a great little library. We had a great stay and recommend the flat!
Alles in der Küche vorhanden, was man braucht. Die Wohnung ist sauber und gepflegt. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und ist wirklich sehr zentral gelegen. Kann es nur weiterempfehlen.
You could not be more central in Paris! This studio apartment is the ideal location if you want to discover the entire city.
The Pompidou Center is only 200 meters away, a bit further you'll find Notre Dame, Places des Vosges, the Picasse Museum, the Jewish Museum, Bastille, Les Halles, Ile de la Cité, Ile Saint Louis.... the whole of Paris is literally 'at your feet'.
The Marais is also world-famous for being a shopper's paradise, with most stores even open on Sundays (something rare in France), its restaurants of all price ranges, cafés & bars, but also its cozy quiet squares, old churches, and historical streets and buildings. Only here you can understand why Paris is so romantic.
The two closest métro stations, Rambuteau and Hôtel de Ville, will take you directly to the most interesting areas of the capital such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, the Louvre Museum and the Orsay Museum. There's also a 'Velib' bike rental station on the corner.
