About Marianne Rogers

We currently live in the mountains of Western North Carolina but we enjoy trips to a warmer climate in the fall, winter and spring. After visiting Hilton Head Island in 2011, we fell in love with the area and decided to purchase property there.

Marianne Rogers purchased this condo in 2012

Why Marianne Rogers chose South Carolina

Hilton Head Resort has everything to offer families ( and we have a large one): the beach, indoor and outdoor pools and an exercise facility. Cocos and the deli offer food, refreshment and bike rentals. What else do you need?

What makes this condo unique

We love the bridge playing opportunities and I love the shopping. It is only a 6 hr. drive from home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We absolutely loved the 3 bedroom unit. We had a terrific weekend. Thank you so much for making your unit so inviting and well stocked (the chairs and beach carts are the best). My family is very interested in staying a week next summer in this unit. Once again, I appreciate you getting this unit reserved for us.

We had a great time on vacation

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week. There were 6 of us and plenty of room. I wish we had ventured over to the indoor pool earlier in the week. It's a nice setup with swings and a fountain. The condo had everything that we needed and more. I had the best peanut butter and bacon burger at Coco's our first night. I'm craving another. I slept on the single in with the bunk bed. I like a soft bed so I was glad that I brought a little foam mattress pad. My aunt and uncle in the king did not need the mattress pad that I brought for them. I didn't realize until we got there that first floor means one floor up from ground level. I wish I had known. The elevator is on the other end of the hall. I think my aunt didn't go to the beach as much because of the stairs and the wait for the shuttle. The shuttle doesn't run continuously all day so you'll have to pay attention to the schedule. Some of us did walk to the beach a few times. It's about 0.4 miles. A good workout but bring the cart. Fresh Market, Kroger, and Whole Foods are just to the left on the 4 lane. Not even a mile. There are some nice restaurants tucked behind these shopping lots. We spent a day at Harbor Town and a day at Daufuskie Island. Both were well worth it. On Daufuskie Island, we rode a golf cart all day and saw dophin and sand dollars, green ponds and sea birds. We picked up some really beautiful pottery and enjoyed the beach. It's a beautiful place and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

we really enjoyed our stay at this villa. Everything we needed was there, including beach toys and a cart to take everything to the beach. Very clean, beds comfortable, ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.

Wonderful respite away

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend. A very nice and clean place to be. Our family of six had plenty of room. Girls loved all the Disney movies. The beds were so comfy, everyone slept well. All the extras, like beach stuff was an extra. We enjoyed the cart and chairs to take down to the beach. This is one of the best beaches we have visited and one of the nicest places we have stayed. We hope to get back here again. Thank you!!!!!

We also appreciate the ease in communication. Answered questions in a timely manner.

Perfect Location-Beautiful Villa!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a wonderful vacation in this villa. The location was so convenient to the pools, boardwalk to the beach and the great deli located by the pool. We ate breakfast there everything morning, had lunch at the beach at Coco's and then ended our day by the pool and deli. Steps from our villa! We literally never had to leave the resort the entire time we were there. The villa had everything we needed. The only problem we had at all was the coffee maker stopped working. We called the number the number the owner gave us for any problems and a new coffee maker was delivered within an hour! The villa was very clean, has a washer/dryer and the kitchen had everything we needed! Comfortable beds, beach chairs, an umbrella and so nicely decorated. We will definitely be going back soon!! Highly recommend!

Run down and dirty!!

  • 1 of 5

This unit is tastefully decorated and we found the beds comfortable. The rest is tolerable if you are handy or like eating in the dark. Both the light over the dining room table and the balcony light arc and short out, both NON USABLE!! Cable is loose at wall connection, must be reattached regularly. Dishwasher leaves food all over dishes, owner said drain probably needed cleaned. I notified owner that this unit was dirty, she responded she gave us the number for cleaning company. I stated that it's her responsibility to see she hires a company to have it clean before the renter moves in not inconvenience the renter to call and do her job for her. If you rent this unit, I suggested you look for the pop tart wrappers behind the nightstands, water bottles under the dressers, broken picture frame/glass under bed in children's room, cigarette butts on balcony and write your name and date on VCRs and dresser tops. Yes, I did email owner and she responded I should have told her sooner (you don't always turn the porch light on the minute you check in or move the might stand to look for your glasses that fell of the stand, or look for an electrical outlet). She did respond after we had left for the day she would call the number she had already given me for maintenance issues and have them come over that day, leave a key in box. I responded we had already left unit for the day, no key was out. I never heard from her again!!! We certainly could have left a key another day. I have rented many other VRBO's and this owner seems only interested in your money not you satisfaction. Also swimming pools at this resort are filthy. People write their names in the caked on sludge. We ask Resort workers daily to have the pool cleaned and I notified the owner. She said she called, but the pool was just as dirty when we left. I am not a snob, I just feel I way overpaid for a dirty unkempt place in a dirty rundown resort and the owner wanted me to deal with it and not bother her. By the way, Coco's has fabulous burgers!!!! I recommend this unit and property to no one!!

Owner's Response: This lady checked into this villa on Saturday. We heard NOTHING from her until Wednesday morning when she decided that the villa was not clean enough. She actually sent me a picture of a water bottle on the floor and a close up of two cracker crumbs on a rug. This was after she and several other guests with her had been there for FOUR days and nights. She also complained that the dishwasher was leaving food and the washer was too loud. There were also two light bulbs out. I provide not only my phone number but the number of the owner of the cleaning service and the owner of the maintenance service to all my guests and tell them to call immediately with any problems. We also ask that guests inspect the villa upon arrival and let us know immediately if they are not happy with anything.. I responded to the email she sent to me four days into her stay and told her I would be glad to have someone come replace the bulbs, clear the dishwasher drain, check the washer, and even reclean even though it was 4 days into her stay if she wanted. She did not respond at all for 6 hours then sent an email saying they had already cleaned and weren't there. I provided her with 3 different phone numbers to call to arrange for everything to be handled. Neither the cleaning service or the maintenance service ever got a call from her and I did not either. Just two very rude emails complaining but not giving us a chance to fix it. It is hard to believe that the villa was clean enough for her to stay for four days and nights then suddenly it was not satisfactory. I did call the resort office when she complained about the pool and they said the pool cleaning service was coming that day. I had another owner go check the pool the next morning and he said it was sparkling clean. We personally had over 45 other guests there the same week and not one of them had a complaint about the pool. The resort had hundreds of people there and according to the office she was the only one who complained. I suspect that nothing we could have done would have made her happy unless we allowed her to stay for a week then refunded her money. The villa has been rented all spring and summer and she is the first and only guest to complain. I did get a complaint from our cleaning service after these guests checked out. It took them an extra hour and two extra employees to clean the mess left behind.

Great stay at Hilton head!

We loved our stay! Everything was very comfortable and the condo is spotless and tastefully decorated. It is a pleasant stroll to the beach.on a nice boardwalk, passing marshes and wildlife. I especially loved the indoor pool. We would definitely reccommend.
