A delightful villa, situated within an exclusive, gated, hilltop Domaine. The villa has spectacular views of the beautiful village of St Paul de Vence as well as the coast and Cap d'Antibes. Our villa has a lovely private paved courtyard garden which is a great area for outdoor dining as well as two further terraces, ideal for enjoying the relaxing ambiance of the private domain. A luxury fitted bathroom upstairs, also a second WC downstairs, fully fitted separate kitchen, large comfortable lounge.
The large shared south facing swimming pool has great views to the coast and is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The domain is a great location for a peaceful retreat or as a base for visiting the many beautiful mountain top villages of the Cote as well as the exciting port towns of Antibes, Nice, Cannes & Monte Carlo
Whether you are interested in art, antique markets, jazz festivals, skiing or food this is the perfect area for you. St Paul's famous Colombe d' Or restaurant is a 15 minute walk as is Cafe de la Place. Nice airport and various beaches are within 15 minutes drive.
We had a wonderful time in this Villa. Everything you could ever need was available, from a cafetiere to books on the book case. the Domaine that this property is situated in is quiet, clean, friendly and private. 5 mins in car to a good size supermarket, 15 mins walk to St Paul de Vence, 15 mins drive to beaches and Nice. Great location, very clean, great communication from owner and property manager. Highly recommended. Thanks Gina and Elisabeth
We enjoyed a wonderful holiday in the summer in this clean and well appointed villa in the Domaine du Piol. There was ample accommodation for our family of four including two adult daughters. The domaine was quiet and relaxing and the patio where we had most of our meals was a real sun trap. The communal swimming pool, which we often had to ourselves, was just a few paces away from the villa. The village was a 15 minute walk away (mostly uphill!). It had beautifully preserved medieval walls and ramparts, interesting art and craft shops, a museum of modern art, a small grocery store and many excellent restaurants, our favourite being Le Tilleul. We were fortunate enough to be there for the midsummer festivities (on 21 June) when there were bands of various types playing at numerous outdoor venues throughout the village. The coastal region was busy but was accessible by bus which we used for a trip to Nice. The local roads had less traffic and we ventured by car to the nearby picturesque village of Tourettes-sur-Loup which was well worth a visit. The owners of the property were efficient, friendly and helpful. We would thoroughly recommend the villa for a relaxing holiday in a tranquil, rural setting or, for the more adventurous, for its easy access to the coastal resorts.
We had a great week here. Lovely apartment with views of St. Paul du Vence and the pool, our own private terrace and plenty of room for our family of four to unpack and unwind at the end of each day. We really liked the location. After a long plane journey, it was great to be only 15 minutes from the Nice airport, yet up in the hills in a quiet, old estate. We took several day-trips and also stayed put just to enjoy the property and pool. Owners were great too.
Peaceful, well-maintained, air-conditioned, property in gated community 20 minutes from Nice Airport and a mile from St. Paul de Vence. Easy access to grocery stores. Owners were very responsive and easily accessible by email. There's a local property agent available.
Our kids loved the pool, located just around the corner and visible from top floor window.
Would definitly come again and wholeheartedly recommend to others.
We enjoyed some glorious weather when we stayed here and found the air conditioning very useful if we got too hot! The villa has a lovely authentic French feel to it and is homely and spacious. It is very clean, well maintained and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the private outdoor terrace and found the pool area quiet and relaxing. St. Paul and Vence were charming villages with plenty of good restaurants. This location is ideal for sightseeing and we enjoyed relatively short trips to the resorts of Cannes, Nice, Juan les Pins and Cap Ferrat, as well as other historical mountain villages of Gourdon (via the Gorges du Loup) and La Turbie, and also a train journey to Monaco / Monte Carlo. We found the owners helpful and easy to deal with. We had a lovely holiday here and would highly recommend it to others.
We stayed her for a long weekend and it was just what we were after. The property is fully equipped with everything you could need and was very clean and nicely presented. The front patio is lovely and a real sun trap in the morning and afternoon. A ten minute walk into St Paul meant that a daily trip for fresh croissants was easily achieved! The pool is a good size and comes equipped with an adequate number of loungers and umbrellas. Although we didn't go with any children the house would be suitable for a family with small children - there were many games and toys to keep the younger kids entertained. Would definitely recommend.
St Paul de Vence is reputed to be the most beautiful village in France, with a stunning hilltop location this fortified mediaeval village has become synonymous with art and is now home to some of the best art galleries in the country. The excellent Foundation Maeght is a few minutes walk from the centre of the village and is renowned around the world for art and exhibitions. A peaceful area in the foothills of the alps with mediaeval villages to the north and the bustling and exciting towns of the Riviera to the south. With a 10 minute drive you can visit the markets of Vence, Tourette sur Loup & Biot, within 15 minutes in the opposite direction you can be in Nice or Antibes. Cannes (good for shopping) and the gastronomic village of Mougins are accessible in 20 minutes, you can be in Monaco in 45 minutes.
If you enjoy great views, beautiful rugged scenery, delightful villages and great food this area is ideal. It’s a good place to relax and the area is a must for art lovers.
