Etruscan coast: The clear sea and the numerous seaside resorts have been awarded the European Union Blue Flag Award for their water quality and services.
Bright sandy beaches, such as the Carbonifera and Baratti and with the wind chiseled rocks, where the seabed is deep and rich in fish (Buca delle fate perfect for snorkeling: 40 minutes on foot). Wide beaches of the finest, bright sand and clean sea. The thick and shady pine forest (Parco di Rimigliano) extends to the sea and is rich in hiking, trekking and riding trails.
Kuecke and wine: The gastronomic tradition of the Costa degli Etruschi is known all over the world for its richness and versatility of the dishes offered. The daily freshly caught fish is the main protagonist of countless tasty dishes: from the typical cacciucco alla livornese (fish soup of the livornes kind) to the black risotto with squid, tooth and gilthead sea bream, squid, crustaceans up to the recently rediscovered, with devotion conscientiously prepared blue fish.
Inland, however, meat is the protagonist of cooking, such. B. the beef of the valuable breed 'Chianina' and game, especially wild boar. All dishes are accompanied by vegetables. Typical regional products are cheese, honey, bread, bakery products, chickpea flour pancakes and the 'Livornese punch'.
On the wine route of the Costa degli Etruschi are the wine-growing areas of Bolgheri DOC, Val di Cornia and Bibbona, where world-famous wines such as the Sas
Archeology :: Etruscan seaside settlements, such as the Baratti-Populonia archeological park, museums with a variety of finds from the Villanova culture, the Etruscans and the Romans, such as the museums in Piombino, bear testimony to the importance of history on the Costa degli Etruschi.
In the mining park of San Silvestro (in Campiglia Marittima) one can follow the different phases of metalworking from the time of the Etruscans to the Middle Ages.
