Gegogan Beach House is located at the end of a private access road on a 25 acres property next to a sheltered bay with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and direct access to a private sandy beach. The beach slopes gently into the bay, making it perfect for swimming for smaller children. The canoes belonging to the house invites you to a tour of the bay and to swim with the seals.
The house is individually furnished and offers excellent views onto the Atlantic Ocean from any room.
Sun, clean air, nature, water. Nice and warm people, the relaxed Canadian Way of Life and the pleasant climate, with sunshine like the south of France but with beautiful cool northern air: Here you can find peace and relaxation from your work. Enjoy your days on the large deck overlooking Gegogan Harbour.

Our stay at Geogogan Beach House was probably the highlight of our family's summer. We were very lucky with the weather! Sun almost the whole time we were there. We swam a couple of times a day.....and really appreciated the outside shower after the swim. The kids enjoyed the water and playing on the beach. We had wonderful kayaking experiences in the bay....it was so quiet and the water so pristine it was paradise!
Liscomb Lodge is about a 10 min drive. We enjoyed the river walk from the lodge along the river bank. The Historic Sherbrooke Village is a 20 minute approx drive. We spent almost a full day there with our daughters (7 and 3) and would highly recommend it!
The home itself is beautifully designed and thoughtfully decorated with interesting artwork and furniture. Staying here was a wonderful chance to experience the peace and beauty of the eastern shore.
We left this wonderful home rested and renewed after a five night stay. The home provided everything needed. A short drive to Sherbrooke Village for groceries and we were set. Sunny mornings were spent on the deck enjoying the magnificent waterfront location and views. Our gracious hosts provided DVDs, a selection of good books and wifi. Two double kayaks were on the beach for our use. If we find ourselves in this area again, this home would be our #1 choice for lodging.
Our stay at the Gegogan Beach House was excellent. The house is beautiful both inside and outside, with modern amenities, a great deck with BBQ, outdoor shower and the beach literally at our doorstep. The area is very quiet and secluded and there is a good sandy beach. The waters are cold being the Ocean, but the kids just hopped in anyway! The nearby Sherbrooke village with its historical town and villagers contributed to our experience of Nova Scotia. I would recommend this for anyone seeking to stay in five-star accommodations combined with rustic woodlands and the ocean as a backdrop!
The Gegogan Beach House is exactly as it is described our whole family was pleasantly surprised to not have any unwanted surprises. The property is quite beautiful and the house itself is nicely laid out with a view from every room, even the master has a side window where you can star gaze as you fall asleep. The house and property are well maintained, furnishings and house wares are clean and simple and of good quality.
You are secluded but Chester and Dorthy are just down the road if you have any concerns. Chester was kind enough to offer his driveway to my husband so he could park his motorcycle and trailer, which he gladly excepted, this way he could keep it off the dirt road. For those of you who don't mind a little dust there is plenty of parking at the house not to worry.
As for our holiday the weather for the greater part of the trip was lovely, we kayaked, walked, laughed and RELAXED. On our one rainy day we played cards and watched movies. Oh and we did see the seal several times. We also drove the Cabot Trail, which was on my husbands bucket list and we did a 4hr hike at Liscomb Park, there is plenty to do in this area you just simply need to step out the door.
As I said there are no unwanted surprises here but I guess you'll have to check that out for yourselves. My only regret is that we didn't have more time.
Thank you Christoph and family for sharing your home.
Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore is largely unaffected by tourism and a real insider's tip: Picturesque villages along the coast road, lobster fishing, sandy beaches and beautiful bays.
Little Liscomb is about 15 minutes from Sherbrooke, the tourist center of the Eastern Shore and about 2h from Halifax. In Sherbrooke which is well know for its museum village you will find all kinds of shops, bank, gas station etc.
The well-known Liscomb Lodge with indoor pool, sauna, gym and tennis court can be reached in just 10 minutes by car and is also open to outside guests. The restaurant offers regional and international cuisine.
From Little Liscomb you can have excellent day trips to many other regions and tourist attractions of Nova Scotia such as Cape Breton.
