About Mark and Maureen

My wife and I come from NJ. We have 5 active children(born '94-'03)and we enjoy coming to the lake to share family times and relax in a beautiful setting. Our lake home is our family escape and has been the focal point of many family memories.

Mark and Maureen purchased this house in 2002

Why Mark and Maureen chose Ossipee

The home is in a beautiful setting one hour from our home in Dover. It is close enough yet the beautiful setting provides a great getaway from our hectic daily lives.

What makes this house unique

The home is centrally located to Portland, mountains, Conway, moose country, etc. and though many plan extensive day trips, etc. the home is so appealing that many confess they simply 'hung out' at the home because it was so inviting and comfortable. The sunsets in the summer are spectacular. One of the primary benefits is allowing water access in a child safe environment. The gradual sandy-bottomed water will keep the kids involved the entire day while adults can relax.

Guestbook comments from the owner

(Homeowner's Comment: This note was entered by our guest and is submitted verbatim) Our stay on Lake Ossipee this February was one to be remembered. Besides the fact that the weather was beautiful our accommodations were first class. The house was decorated very tastefully but comfortable. When we walked in the door and took our shoes off we didn't want to go back out to enjoy the NH winter weather which was why we were there. The kitchen area is the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal with all the amenities of a fine home and a breathtaking view to top it all off. I will seize the opportunity to stay there again when I get a chance. Summer or winter it is a perfect spot to relax. Thank you again!

Great Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent our 2nd Christmas vacation at Mark's home and had another great time. Aside from the snow covered lake, great mountain views and cozy fireplace, we also had a great ski week. King Pine is 10-15 minutes down the road. They are a small mountain that is great for anyone. They also offer cross country skiing, snow shoeing, skating and snow tubing. After a day outdoors, we had fabulous dinners, nice wine and the kids slept great. We loved our week and look forward to returning next year

Owner's Response: Though most of our renters stay during the summer, our home makes a great winter retreat. King Pine is a great beginner mountain. Some guests snowmobile on the lake, others stay to ice fish, and most seem to enjoy their stay as much as the summer guests.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

A ground of friends and myself all got together for a friendsgiving and were thoroughly impressed. The house is kept clean, it feels like home and the view couldn't be better. Not to mention the canoe that is available for use.

Such a nice house on the lake.

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly what we needed and wanted. We were 4 couples renting it for a quiet get-away weekend and truly enjoyed the view and the layout of the house. the property was exactly as described, real clean for actually being not in season. We really enjoyed just hanging and chatting the weekend away while sitting there looking at the gorgeous lake and mountain view. We not only will recommend this house to all our friends and family, but we will be renting it again for sure.

Great Interior Layout and what a view!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a weekend at this property in early April in order to spend some time with my family that lives in the area and these off-season accommodations were perfect. I have been traveling to the area my whole life and never realized that this lake or view existed. Even Mount Washington can be seen on a clear day. This view is only available from this end of the lake and was the highlight of the trip because of the layout of this house! The property is just as advertised as dingy looking on the exterior, but an open layout with complete renovations on the inside living area makes this house a great place to stay. Mark was easy to work with and was available if needed. I will look to use these accommodations again when visiting family in the future!

A great get-away

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect place to get away from it all. It doesn't matter what season you are in, the mountains and lake and all the wildlife make you feel like you are 'one with nature'. You can stock the fridge and cook meals or just take a few minutes to travel for a bite to eat. [If you are cooking, make sure you bring your own bowls, spoons as these are limited.] We only live 40 minutes away, but our family joins us from parts of NY State and they cannot get enough of the views. We make our visits every other year at the lake house with them - - and, we wouldn't go anywhere else. All in all, a good time was had by my family :)

4th Time Is The Charm

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I from Rochester, NH, plus my family from upstate NY and Long Island had a wonderful time (again!) at the Geppert's lake house. 4 times here should let everyone know how much we've enjoyed this lakeside paradise. Bald eagles flying by every morning, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, canoeing and kayaking, all added up to a relaxing and totally enjoyable time. Next autumn (when we always rent) can't come fast enough.
