The kitchen is fully-equipped with tableware to seat ten people.

The upper level deck is nearly 500 square feet, with patio furniture and features a new gas gill. The lower level has three bedrooms (including the second master bedroom), two full bathrooms, and the utility room (washer/dryer). In additions to the second master bedroom, the lower level has a bumkroom with a bunkbed, a queen size bed, and a TV for DVD/VCRs. The third lower level bedroom has 2 twin/single beds.

The Sunny View House is ideally located for taking full advantage of all that Tahoe has to offer. About Chris Williams

We have retired to Central Oregon after 25 years of working and raising a family in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our adult children and their families are able to use the Sunny View House only occasionally. After a complete upgrading (all new appliances, new carpet and new beds and linen) we began renting it in 2006.

Chris Williams purchased this house in 1977

Why Chris Williams chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

I had been coming to the Meeks Bay area of Lake Tahoe since childhood and wanted my wife and children to experience this magical place. In 1976 we purchased our lot and built the Sunny View House the following summer. Our family has been truly enriched during the times we have shared at Tahoe.

What makes this house unique

We try very hard to make sure our renters have a wonderful vacation while at Lake Tahoe. Upon your arrival you’ll find a sparkling clean house (thanks to Marni); a well stocked pantry including, olive oil, other vegetable oils, several different BBQ rubs and sauces, condiments and all the spices you’ll ever need; complete table ware for 10; quality beds and linens; and, yes a spectacular view. We continue to invest in up grading the Sunny View House; we care and it shows.

Great and very comfortable house in a spectacular location.

Staying in Tahoe is always wonderful but when you have a beautiful view of the lake and mountains in makes all the difference in the world. The William's house (this is not a cabin) overlooks Meeks Bay and is very quiet and private. A short drive from Tahoe City and close to Emerald Bay and many hiking spots. Everything you need for cooking and comfort is right there at your fingertips. The house is also big enough for a couple of families. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay at Lake Tahoe. My wife and I had a very fun and relaxing week. Thank you Chris Williams.

Highly Recommend; Comfortable, View!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the Williams House on Meeks Bay. The deck has sweeping views of Meeks Bay, where we spent each morning and evening eating, drinking and bonding. The fully stocked kitchen (a cook's dream) was fantastic, as was the Weber gas grill. It's a short drive to Tahoe City to food shop and dine out. We hiked, parasailed, kayaked and rode the bike trail to Squaw. Everything was within walking distance or a short drive away. Chris was great to work with, answered our questions in a timely manner, and sent back our deposit quickly. We are already planning next year's trip. If you're looking for a comfortable, well-appointed house in a fantastic area, look no further.

Wonderful, Roomy, Quiet Vacation Home - Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four ("kids" are 18 and 20) and we were very comfortable in this house. It is quite large, more room than we probably needed, but it was nice with older kids that they had their privacy, and the deck and living room/kitchen are quite large so we had lots of great family time as well. I was surprised at how well-stocked it was. Everything you need in terms of kitchen and bathroom supplies. Truly. Everything! (The only thing I didn't see was bar soap, but there was plenty of liquid soap. Just a heads-up if you prefer bar.) They have lots of board games and DVDs, so again, lots of fun, chill family time. We also made use of the beach chairs.

The location is great. Walking distance to Meeks Bay. Also, one thing I particularly enjoyed was the bike path ended about half a mile from the front door, so it was great access if you want to go for a run or ride your bike. The house is at the top of a hill, which is great for views…and a good workout when walking back up it after being out and about exploring the area! We were there in the middle of June and it was very quiet. Practically had the neighborhood (and the lake) all to ourselves!

We worked directly with the owner, Chris, and he was very helpful and responsive. All in all, this is a great rental and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a large, clean, peaceful place to stay in Lake Tahoe.

Loved our stay in Lake Tahoe. The fishing trip was awesome (Tahoe Sport Fishing), the hiking fabulous - we did Vikingsholm and Eagle Falls trail. The house had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed out stay there. We would definitely do this again!

Stunning views, beautiful location, family getaway.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to Lake Tahoe from England to meet up for New Year with my three boys and their families and friends. There was ample room for all of us and it was warm and very well equipped. The views from the house were indeed absolutely stunning and the ski slopes easily accessible by short car ride. There are good food stores within easy distance and Tahoe City has a variety of restaurants to choose from. We ate at Jakes on the Lake and had friendly service and tasty food. But we preferred to eat in the house around the large family table with the views of the lake and mountains and snow. The house was clean and I would definitely recommend it to to anyone wanting comfort and space and a base from where people can ski, snowboard and walk. We were there in the winter but I am sure that this would be an equally lovely place to be at other times of the year.
