About Jennifer

We wanted a convenient vacation home with all amenities for comfort & fun. We love to bike, play tennis, play with our kids, surf, kayak, garden, cook, and hang out at the beach. After 20+ years in the Northeast, Biddeford Pool always is our favorite place in New England!

Jennifer purchased this house in 2005

Why Jennifer chose Biddeford Pool

Biddeford Pool is a throw-back to family life of the 1950's plus all the wonderful nearby options of Portland, Kennebunport, and even Old Orchard Beach amusement park. The long sandy beach is the best in Southern Maine for long walks & body surfing . Tidal pools offer endless exploration for sea creatures. Our kids love the freedom to go anywhere on their bikes, especially the daily trip to the village store for ice cream!

What makes this house unique

Beautiful, easy bike rides to Goose Rocks & Cape Porpoise for breakfast or lunch. 'Gone with the Wind' rents top-notch kayaks & windsurfers in B Pool. Kayak out to the Wood Island Lighthouse quite easily or explore the calm waters of the back Pool. Several public tennis courts & golf courses nearby, too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We rented this fantastic house for two weeks in August of this year. It's a gorgeous house - bright, sunny, wonderfully decorated, modern kitchen and bathrooms and supplied with every imaginable kitchen and beach item you could think of. Add a perfect location on a quiet street, right near both a sandy and rocky beach, berry bushes on the property bursting with ripe fruit, two terrific local restaurants and you have a recipe for a superb time you'll treasure.

Nice home, perfect location but one problem...

  • 3 of 5

Family of four stayed the first week of November. The location is perfect. The house was clean and the kitchen was great. The kids loved the downstairs in the game room. The only problem we had and it put a damper on the trip, was we were not aware there was a camera in the house (in the kitchen area, was not mentioned in the contract or Home Away) It is not legal and is an invasion of privacy even for "common" areas of the home. The two outdoor cameras they had are legal. When I questioned the owner when we arrived she told us to put a dish towel on the camera. At that point I was concerned if there was audio on the camera or if there were other cameras in the house which she said there was not. It was on my mind the entire stay and was concerning to me because I have two young kids. We paid to get away and relax and to be honest it was difficult.

Besides the camera the house is perfect if you love the water. The owner answered all questions we had in a timely manner but was disappointed about the camera for the money we paid.

Spacious, gracious and lovely home for a family get-together

  • 5 of 5

We spent five days with our three sons, their two wives and a fiancee, and an almost-two year-old at this very comfortable, well-maintained and equipped home on a quiet street. A lovely garden with ample green lawn, shade trees, and a hammock gives it privacy even though neighbors are quite close. The open kitchen is extremely well-supplied with cooking pots and pans, implements, and table ware. We cooked almost every meal there, and found everything we needed. Light switches are all labelled - a real plus. The whole house is attractively decorated, and obviously a lot of thought has been given to making it a great place for a family. Our grandson was especially delighted with the Legos, dolls, and books in the kids' corner in the enormous upstairs rec room. We were really happy there.

Awesome House in a Beautiful Neighorgood

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid house. Plenty of room for all 9 of us. Nicely remodeled house with all the amenities you need. Very clean and well-maintained. Really enjoyed the built in stereo system throughout the main level of the home. Awesome ice maker so you never have to worry about running out.

Mark and Jennifer were great to work with and made staying at their place a breeze. They take pride in their home and it shows. Thanks guys for a wonderful 3 night stay.

Spacious, pleasingly furnished beach home near the crashing surf

  • 5 of 5

This home is full of daylight and lovely artwork, yet also family-friendly and provides all the conveniences. Ample explanations of switches and appliances mean no need to contact the owners. In early April the gardens are not yet emerging, yet look as if they are magnificent in the high season, and a sunny deck offers meals outside.Though not "on" the ocean, it's just a short stroll away to gorgeous water views. The neighborhood is flat and traffic is quiet, so ideal for cycling for all ages, with equipment available. Ideal for family vaca, or just a quiet getaway for adults, which was what our visit was.
