About the property

3 BR 2 BAHouse With Unique Tranquil and Natural Setting

Heron Now is a comfortable bayfront home located on beautiful Apalachicola Bay, St. George Island, Florida.

The large deck offers sea breezes and a private, panoramic overlook of the bay and estuarine reserve. You have the same view from inside the house and even from the kitchen.

Heron Now has the best of both vacation worlds: the gulf coast beaches and the beautiful bayside marsh. The spacious gulf coast beach is only 1.5 blocks away via easy public access. There you can swim in the waves, fish the surf, or lounge among the sand castles. Heron Now adjoins the bayside world of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Reserve which provides one mile of undeveloped bayshore waterfront to explore by foot or boat. Bring your canoes and kayaks (or rent locally) because there is bay access. Bring your fishing gear because the bay is full of sea trout, redfish, and mullet . Bring your camera and binoculars because every hike or paddle will bring a new discovery.

Good location for vacation

  • 4 of 5

Good location, home was comfortable and clean. Liked the decks, views of the bay. Beds were comfortable, except twin beds a little short and hard for grandson. Everything good, except the kitchen utensils- skillets in bad shape, only one was usable. not a lot of cooking utensils to choose from. Otherwise, no complaints. We enjoyed our week at Heron Now. Thank You!

Owner's Response: We are heading up to Heron Now for Thanksgiving week and will make sure we replace the skillets and restock the kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils. Thanks for the feedback .

The property was great! Beautiful view of the bay, pretty secluded off of Gulf Shore Drive.

  • 5 of 5

The owner had lots of info about things to do, favorite places, birds of the region, etc. And the quiet & beauty is just what we needed.

Best Place on the Island

  • 5 of 5

Initially, I planned on finding a place right on the beach. If I'd done that I would have missed the opportunity to view 2 bald eagles and the herons that visit the estuary. Also I would have missed the GORGEOUS surroundings... So many beautiful trees! A real Nature Trip! The house was very clean and well appointed. Next time, I'd like to stay for a month!! Thanks Edward for providing the binoculars and the library!

A deck with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed out time at Heron Now. The deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying coffee in mornings and wine in the afternoons. It has spectacular view of tidal pool and the bay. It is great for bird watching. We saw 2 pairs of eagles every day, not to mention herons, hawks, kingfishers and other wonderful birds. Easy driving into Apalachicola which has quirky shops and yummy restaurants and even a brewery. The Owl Cafe was our favorite for dinner. Also visited the Marine/Boat museum. Spent one morning at ANERR Nature Center learning about the area. The beach was a short walk or drive--not very many people so it felt private. Overall, a great place to unwind and get away from the crowds.

Very relaxing place with beautiful views.

  • 5 of 5

Heron Now is close to everything but you feel secluded. It is quiet and relaxing. Our favorite thing about the house is it’s views off the back deck. The owner is great. He called to check on us when we arrived to make sure everything was in order. Can’t wait to stay there again.

Perfect and peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 had a great time at Heron Now this weekend. Its not directly on the bay, but just a short walk. Its great for cast netting fish, Shoreline fishing, or taking the kids to swim on the beach side. There is public access just a short walk away. I find the beach side to be too open. This is secluded and quiet. Saw many bald eagles in the mornings while drinking coffee on the balcony. We loved it!
