Elevator service -The board has been advised that the elevators installed on the exterior of the building are actually interior elevators that were not intended for exterior use. As such, the elevators experience a significantly higher number of service calls and actual down time than normal elevators. Whenever one of the elevators goes down for service, residents will experience higher waiting times for the elevator to respond (e.g. it could take 15-30 minutes for the remaining elevator to cover all 40 floors, top to bottom)
“Owners should advise their renters and guest of this situation so that the extra wait time for the elevators can be allotted for whenever needed."
Recently there have not been any complaints or problems with the elevators.

Great location. Great view.
Worked well for my daughter and I. Responsive owner/manager. But, not as clean as should be. Interior partially updated in older property.
Thank you for the review. We wish we had heard about any cleaning issues during your stay so that we could have addressed them. We would have sent our maid back to the unit to correct any cleaning issues.
Excellent, Clean, convenient, affordable
I enjoyed my stay. Instructions for getting key and parking were good, lobby entrance is secure, location near center of Waikiki is perfect, view from 33 floor of ocean & Bay area is nice, apartment is clean and updated, wifi and cable are reliable, shower is good, neighbor stays up late w/TV on, but not a big deal. Need to be patient, as elevator(only 1 in service due to upgrading other one) is slow.

The location coupled with a parking spot makes this a 5 star. It is meant for 2 people, yet there is an amazingly comfortable reclining leather chair one could probably sleep in . The view is better than described, and the windows actually open widely . The building is not new or at all glitzy, and note the discussion about elevator repair work.
Parking in this area really tough, so this was ideal ......usually would pay $40 /day with a lot of hassle.
Instructions for access very clear. If you put 1700 Ala Moana Blvd in GPS, it is a snap.
The condo was very good. The view was awesome . Suggest some work is done on the elavator system.

The slow elevator becomes something to talk and joke about with other guests. It really wasn't that slow, but it was fun to make fun of it with the other guests.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple nights and loved it. Lucinda let us check in early which was so sweet of her. The view is amazing and the bed was nice and comfy. The only complaint we had was the elevator took too long since only one was working. The bathroom had a weird smell but it was clean. So if you're looking for a place to stay I would definitely recommend this place. My boyfriend and I will definitely consider staying here the next time we come back to Hawaii.
Mahalo for your review and am sorry the elevator modernazation project is still ongoing, which makes for a longer wait, especially in the morning and early evening.
I think what you might have smelled in the bathroom is the final wipe down that the cleaners do with white vinegar after the bathroom has been thoroughly cleaned.It's a precaution just in case anyone has sensitivity to generic cleaning products.
