We lived in the older home on the property for four years before we built the new house and carriage house. The gardens were finished in 2002. Many of the plants are from the Endolyne Garden Club plant exchange each year. There are Apple, Quince, Fig, and a few Plum trees. The other edibles include huckleberries, sage, rosemary, parsley, and lovage. In the vegetable garden we usually grow blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, artichokes, asparagus, rhubarb, beans, cucumbers, carrots, greens, and many, many tomatoes. There are about 30 pots of annuals around the property. There is a greenhouse and chickens as well. You are more than welcome to walk through the vegetable garden and grab a ripe tomato in season.

We live here in West Seattle because it has wonderful views and sunsets, and is not pretentious. Lately it has become very hip and trendy with great restaurants and wonderful bike trails. Many many families live in this area, and the community has a nice friendly feel.
This was an awesome trip! We wanted to make our own tradition for thanksgiving and this home made it a success! It had everything we needed to make it a memorable holiday! This home came with everything we needed and a ton of recommendations on what to do and see! We will be making this a part of our future plans and recommend it to anyone! Thank you for making this stay memorable and comfortable.
We stayed here for several nights in September while on an extended vacation and to visit my nephew who lives in West Seattle. His family and friends have stayed in disappointing rentals so he couldn't believe his eyes when he walked into this one! (My sister will thank me the next time she visits because surely she will stay here.) Other reviewers have pointed out all the wonderful things about this carriage house - clean, comfortable, private, and amenities galore. Yes, it's a little tricky to find but once you do, it's a gem. Highly recommended.
Great place on the ocean with easy accecesbillity to west Seattle. Direction we're easy to follow and I'd definitely stay here again.
Wow! What a great place to stay. Beautiful grounds, carefully laid gardens and rocks and little touches make for a perfect entrance to a super secret little cottage hideaway. Much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside I can assure you! Stunning. Hardwood floors, retro artwork, comfy furniture throughout. Essentials of coffee and tea aplenty ( thank you for the hot water pot! ) Gas fireplace kept the entire place cozy as could be. Loved the Neutrogena bath and Aussie hair products. Shower felt fantastic ( very sturdy water pressure ) and the double curtain is great. Lots of Planet Green going on in that place and it was so nice to see it enforced. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Nice storage area for suitcase behind curtains with washer/dryer combo. Also really loved the double rug right at the entrance INSIDE for wiping and leaving shoes as it did rain a good bit while I was there. AND the key rack right by the front door! no more "Where did I put my keys?" Can't say enough good things. A tiny bit hard to find the street at night after a long drive so thank you Kyle for your patience! ( think I called her 4 times! Help! ) The cottage is perfect but for one small thing which is probably only an issue for me, and even so not a huge one: the windows have no curtains but for the bedroom. Just felt a little weird. The views were amazing though for sure. Also the cottage is close to so many places, and I just enjoyed my walks every morning. Trails galore and the walk to Alki beach and Harbor ave into Seattle is do-able at about 8 miles if you want a good hike. You can water taxi back or bus it back or walk it back too. It does get a little industrial looking at some points and so it is not for the timid but just putting it out there. The view of Seattle city front is astounding from Alki even if you never get into the city! The farmer's market in the middle of town was pretty cool! Glad I made it for that. Street was closed all morning until about 2:30. Oh, and the mailbox at the top of your entrance drive has a slot to drop your postcards and such so you don't even have to go to the post office!!! Grocery stores nearby and restaurants at nearly every turn. This cottage is a no brainer for Seattle stays. Close to, but also far enough away for a little quiet....Really enjoyed Halloween here this year! Thanks so much for your hospitality!
Great location in West Seattle. Quiet, comfortable and so close to Lincoln Park and waterfront. Wonderful place to wind down in the evening after a fun day exploring the city!
We were "home" when we arrived each night. We felt welcomed in the neighborhood and enjoyed the proximity to all there is to see in Seattle. We would definetly return!
Thank you again Kyle for keeping watch over the typhoon warning and for the preparations. We enjoyed our time without worry. We appreciated the care and privacy.
Close proximity to Downtown Seattle, but in a very quiet and relaxing, waterfront area of West Seattle. Located on a bus line (Seattle metro 37 and short walk to Rapid C line)and 15 minute drive from the West Seattle Water Taxi that can take you right to the downtown waterfront.
