Fantastic House with Excellent Location!!

  • 5 of 5

Newly renovated, sleek Seaview house conveniently located next to the ferry and the Seaview Market. Full kitchen, beautiful open space with two large decks and a great view of the surrounding waters. The owner was very accommodating and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The stay felt like a complete secluded Fire Island getaway, there are barely any cars on the island as everyone gets around riding bikes - our favorite activity as the neighborhood is beautiful.

After a day at the beach, ride your bike to Ocean Beach, the next town over, and enjoy an assortment of restaurants and entertainment options. We went to Matthews Seafood House, the oysters were delicious!

I would absolutely return to Fire Island and stay again in a heartbeat. By far, one of the best places I have stayed in, and it's a wonder that it's only 2 hours from NYC.

Dreamy vacation home in Seaview, Fire Island

  • 5 of 5

Staying at this lovely home was a wonderful vacation for my family. Rain or shine- visiting Seaview was a great experience. Fire Island is a magical place. It is hard to believe you are only a few hours outside of the city. Seaview is the first stop off the Fire Island ferry. The house is very close to the ferry drop off which eliminates a lot of stress when arriving and departing especially with children. The Seaview Market is right next to the house as well which is a wonderful perk because they have everything and anything you can imagine in terms of food, toiletries, etc.. Staying in Seaview allows you access to the town playground which is adorable. My kids loved it. The playground includes an awesome kiddie pool, bay access, and beautiful views.

The house is minutes away from the playground and the next town over which has many shops/restaurants. And the beautiful beach is just a short walk down a paved path. The entire island is very enchanting and we really enjoyed the quick walk to the beach.

The house has a light and airy feel. It is like living amongst the trees with the great upstairs open living space which has two large decks. The home itself is very child friendly. And the kitchen and bathrooms are fully renovated making your stay with your family even more welcoming.

This home made visiting the island very convenient. We look forward to returning and I highly recommend staying here with friends or family.

Location, Location, Location!

Not only was the house a short walk to the ferry and Seaview Market, but had everything we needed to make our visit unforgettable. Beach chairs, toys, bicycles, a wagon and plenty of kitchen accessories made it easy for sit back and relax!. We often found ourselves sitting and enjoying the beautiful view of the bay from the deck. Can't wait to come back next summer!

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house was a great house for a family with kids. My friend and I had our six kids (ages 13-17) with us and this was a perfect house. The kids were all in the bedrooms downstairs and we shared the large master upstairs. The open floor plan made it seem much more spacious and the two decks were great for us to have "adult time" The house was clean and comfortable and although it was a longer walk to beach than we would have liked the views of the bay and the walk to the town made up for it.

Map

A popular summer resort, Fire Island is known for its pristine beaches, tranquil atmosphere, and laid back charm. The island is 31 miles long and 2 - 3 blocks wide and is comprised of 18 distinct communities, each with its own unique character and vibe. Bordered to the north by the Great South Bay and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, Fire Island’s beaches are world famous. Less than 50 miles from Manhattan to the Bay Shore Ferry terminal, many people come to Fire Island to escape the hustle bustle of New York City in a relaxing setting, without the attitude and pretension of the Hamptons. Cars are not allowed on the island in the summer months and are permitted during the winter only with a Federal permit. Walking and biking are the predominant forms of transportation, contributing to the island’s intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Residents use wagons to transport luggage, groceries, and other items to and from the ferry terminal, market, or beach. Because of this, the radio flyer red wagon has become a familiar Fire Island icon. The island is also known for the abundance of wild deer that roam freely.
