About Cindy Pawley
We were born and raised in the Manistique area and enjoy Indian Lake with our family. Numerous family members have cottages on Indian Lake. We are unable to enjoy the cottage on a regular basis due to job responsibilities and we live out of town.
Cindy Pawley purchased this Cottage in 1990
Why Cindy Pawley chose Manistique
This property is close to other family cottages and is in a neighborhood we enjoy. It is close to town and we are able to ride ATV's from our driveway to the wonderful, groomed trails of Schoolcraft County.
What makes this Cottage unique
It is close to town but gives you the advantage of being on Indian Lake. You can enjoy swimming or just sit at the water's edge and enjoy the day. Download the Discover Manistique app on your mobile device to find out more about the area.

Great place to stay!
We just got back from a trip to the UP. My husband and I stayed in this adorable cottage with our 4 and 2 year olds. This was the perfect place for our needs. We saved an enormous amount of money by being able to cook meals in the cottage. The kitchen was fully functioning and had every tool and kitchen appliance we needed for a four night stay. The local grocery store had everything I needed and wonderful produce. This place is one hour from Pictured Rocks, about an hour from Tahquamenon Falls, and two hours from Mackinac Island. The city of Manistique itself is gorgeous.
The cottage is in a fantastic location. The sunsets every night are beyond gorgeous. We ate every meal outside at the little dining set. The water in Indian Lake is crystal clear. The layout of the house is perfect. It has a huge living room looking out at the water and enough room in the backyard for us to play. There were toys and books for our kids. Those combined with the few we brought along was more than enough to keep them occupied the entire time. We're so grateful we were able to stay there. The owners were very helpful and able to answer our questions. We want to thank them for sharing their home with us; we had the best time!
Quiet and peaceful stay by the lake
Just got back from UP, and really enjoyed this quiet cottage by the lake. It was really nice to have our own access to the lake. Kids enjoyed looking at the fish from the dock -- we don't do any fishing but I wished we did. We took in the beautiful sunset every evening, and the stars -- Milky Way! -- at night. The cottage was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Pots/pans/utensils could use update but we were not there to cook gourmet meals so it worked fine for us. The owners had extra towels dropped off for us, and whoever did that also included a small gift for us. Very thoughtful. It was especially nice that there were so many toys and books for the kids. I also liked being close enough to do a day trip to Pictured Rocks.
Thanks, so much, for your great review! We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. We purchased a new set of pots and pans, today, along with utensils. . Thanks for the suggestion.
Location of cabin was very nice. The cabin was clean and set up very nice. Owner was great with info. Beautiful sunset and near full moon laid on the water nearly all night. Storms however created gusting winds and could not make it out fishing as I would have liked.
Glad you enjoyed the cottage. Sorry, we had no control over that rain. Thanks for staying with us.
We stayed here for our family vacation last summer. Beautiful Lake, excellent cabin. Very clean and quiet. Awesome sunsets! We even caught perch off the dock. Plenty to do around town. Took a road trip up to Lake Superior to see the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore. Will stay here again :)
Karen, thanks for your kind words. We enjoy our cottage and we are glad you did too!
Great place to stay
This was an excellent cabin to stay in. Large living room with a beautiful view of Indian Lake 40 yds from the sliding glass doors. Everything was in great shape, nice dock, nice place to make a fire.the only negative thing that I would say was the bathroom was on the small side but very functional. We will rent this place again, hopefully with better weather.
