My name is Annalisa Baldassarrini, I am a descendant of the Baldassarrini family who lived for in the estate of Certano. I'm responsible for the management, maintenance and care of the houses and apartments that we rent. Fishing out things here and there from the rooms of the ancient villa of Certano, I tried to restore the flavor of the houses. In the days when I was a little girl and I used to go and visit the farmers in the houses we now open to tourists. I really like going to the flea markets in search of old objects and furniture to embellish our homes and create a true Tuscan atmosphere. I enjoy growing lavander and love creativity in general, and in the store I opened under the stable I create scented sachets and various crafts to offer to our guests. I'm keen on painting, decoupage, embroidery and creativity in general. Certano makes me feel good because it enhances my artistic side!
The property has been in our family for generations and I remember visiting the peasants who lived in it at the time of sharecropping: I have so many good memories of those times!
I can still smell the scent of wheat and remember the picturesque haystacks in the yard in front of Boschetto.
I love this house because it makes you feel the atmosphere of bygone times, with its thick walls and the old chimney!
What a gem, the home, property, the area, and especially the hostess, Gracillla. She was wonderful and made the stay outstanding! We had a great time and we're sorry to leave! The whole crew thanks you.
We stayed here three days and enjoyed it thoroughly. The house easily accommodated our group of six; in fact, it was quite large. All enjoyed the ancient character of the old house, the surrounding Tuscan countryside, and the table outside. The manager and owner were both very gracious and helpful. The owner, Anna Baldasarrini, kindly showed us the family’s centuries-old villa and winery nearby as well. Except for breakfast and maybe a snack, we ate out or at the house of friends, but the kitchen was adequate for preparation of simple meals. I strongly recommend staying here.
