About Anita Hazelton
The conception of “The Blue Buck on 72″ was an idea developed and constructed through the vision and passion of Julie and Paul Varchetti. As a lifelong “Down-stater”, Julie has returned to her family’s roots in Northern Michigan. Julie’s grandmother, Evelyn, was one of the original cooks for Dingman’s Bar and her father grew up on Bear Lake in the 1950′s. Although having grown up downstate, Julie and her husband, Paul, decided to head north and have their summer home on Cub Lake. Julie also owns and operates “Full Circle Resorts” in Bear Lake Township which is conveniently located next to the convenient store “ The Blue Buck on 72″ that features 2 beautifully renovated cabins, a large home on Cub Lake and 2 RV sites which can accommodate up to 42 foot motorhomes and offer full service hook-up.

Beautiful interior and ample space
Stayed here for an ice fishing trip and was very impressed. One of the nicer cabins I've stayed at in northern MI
Cabin was very clean and was much larger than expected. The shower was about the size of 1.5 of your normal shower stall with room to move. Both bedrooms were roomy and felt even more spacious because of high ceilings. Great location behind an excellent shop well stocked with wine, beer and anything else you may need. Outdoor fire pit was great...complete with chairs and roasting sticks. BYO campfire food. Will definitely stay again!
Clean & Convenient
We stayed at the cabin as a guys ORV getaway. The cabin was clean, everything is conveniently located near by, and the people at the Blue Buck were very friendly. Thanks for a great time!
Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway anytime throughout the year
We loved the cabin at first sight. Starting with the check in process at Blue Buck all the way to when we turned in the keys at check out. It was all around a great experience. The cabin is conveniently located to many ammenities, nicely decorated and immaculate. We highly recommend renting this little piece of heaven on your next trip to Kalkaska. We know we will rent it again.
The Buck Lodge was a cozy comfortable place to stay, it was clean and fit our needs! Loved the extra touches for example chocolate candy on the pillows! We will be back in the spring! Thanks for s awesome weekend!!!
Excellant for motorcycle touring.
Very clean and pleasant accomodations. For our stay, the location was perfect for traveling to Mackinac and Traverse Bay during the same stay. We rode our motorcycles through some fantastic scenery and good roads. The Blue Buck has those items you forgot or planned on getting on arrival. It also has a great selection of beer for winding down on the front patio or sitting by the firepit. Shirley' s in the Woods Cafe had great service and food. There is a Marathon station about 500' away to refuel upon arrival and departure. The cabin has everything you might need for your stay. Stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, television and AC. Julie, the owner, was prompt with our reservation request and was fully available to us during our stay. I think we made a great choice staying at the Buck Lodge. They should add motorcycle touring to their list of activities. You are 1-2 hours from some of the most scenic rides in MI
