About Don or Mary Jo Behrmann

We wish to share our beautiful lake home with others while we can not be there to enjoy it ourselves. I have worked at a Resort and have managed another VRBO property. We feel you will enjoy your vacation at our little piece of paradise in Northern Minnesota.

Don or Mary Jo Behrmann purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Don or Mary Jo Behrmann chose Northeast

The day my husband and I saw this property, I heard the wind through the pine trees that surround the cabin and felt peacefulness. I knew then it was the place we had been searching for. We lived near the twin cities and wanted a place to go for the weekends to relax and enjoy the evenings by the fire. Catching fish, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, and blueberry picking was an extra. Hope you will enjoy the lake home and extras as much as we do.

What makes this cabin unique

Just 4-15 miles to multiple lakes and bar/restraunts, art center, churches and Scenic State Park

Love this place!

We have stayed here for three years in a row, over the MEA break. The cabin is clean and well-maintained. It is on a lovely lake and you feel like you are the only ones around. The owners are very helpful and we had everything we needed. Wonderful place!

We had such a wonderful week! It's peaceful and secluded just like we wanted! Got the whole lake to ourselves we never saw anyone else! The cabin was clean And had everything we needed besides food and personal items! We loved having a small boat, paddle boat and kayaks to use! We also caught more fish than we ever imagined we would! We also slept better than we have in weeks the bed was so comfortable! For us newlyweds it was the perfect honeymoon away from everything! We definitely recommend checking this place out if you want peace And quiet! We want to come back again!! Thank you Don & Jo your place is absolutely wonderful!

A perfect lake vacation!! Secluded, Serene, beautiful!! All the necessary amenities, plus the charm!

  • 5 of 5

We were extremely happy with the cabin, it felt more homey than our home. Beds were comfy, kitchen was stocked so we could make our own meals, bathroom was nice. So many fabulous areas to spend family time, huge living room or kitchen table, patio with fire pit, and the beautiful deck off of the loft. Most of our family time was spent on the beach or out on (what seemed like our own personal lake). We never ran out of entertainment and we never left, we spent most days in beach attire enjoying the hospitality of Don and Jo. Anything you needed was there and easily found. We never tired of paddle boating, fishing, kayaking, taking the fishing boat out, and swimming. We were entertained by our personal lake loon and the bald eagles nest right in front of our beach. At night we heard the bowl of wolves as music to our ears. We enjoyed the peace and letting go so much. Usually our family vacations are spent running from one attraction to the next, but here there was no time and no hurry. I think we all wish we were able to stay longer. The location was great, the cabin was impeccable. We are so glad we found this spot!

Owner's Response: Seth, Heather and Family, We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Behrmann's Shore. We hear these same comments from other families that have stayed with us. This is what family vacations are all about, spending time with family and forgetting about what is going on in the world. We realize there is something very special about our cabin in the Northwoods and Thank God for this gift to us. This is why we decided to share our cabin with others when we couldn't be there ourselves. Don & I also want to Thank You for taking such great care of our home while you were there. It is always so nice when we come to clean and things are in order, which makes our Saturday much easier. Thank you for choosing our place for your vacation and I hope you will pass your experience onto others. Don & Jo

Where I want to live!

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip up the driveway I knew we were going to have a blast. The house is beautiful, well kept, and had everything we needed. The lake is very clear and the kids loved the sandy beach. There was rarely a dull moment when fishing. Every time we would fish from the dock or out on the boat we would see 2 deer across the lake watching us. There was a young eagle in the nest across the lake too. We had fun kayaking around the lake, the kids fought over who got to go on the paddle boat next. I loved listening to the loons, especially at night. The kids had fun with all of the games in the house and the garage. They even had guitar hero battles on a rainy day. My older 2 girls thought they were pretty cool sleeping on the pull out couch in the garage like it was their own apartment. The kids and I picked blueberries down the road and the next morning Dad made flapjacks. The only 2 things I could find wrong with our trip (which had nothing to do with our hosts) were the flies, which is typical of Minnesota in summer, and having to leave at the end of the week! I would live there if I could afford to do it! Half way home Troy realized he had left his filet knife there. He did not want to bother anyone with it so we never mentioned that we left it there. A few days later Don had sent it to us in the mail! We had a wonderful time and we had wonderful hosts! Thank you again!

Very secluded....

  • 4 of 5

A wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Very peaceful and relaxing in the middle of no where. The cabin was very clean and well kept. We spend a lot of time playing cards and enjoying the water. "Speedy" the boat, the paddleboat and the kayak was a nice bonus.

Thank you for sharing your home with us.
