Why Bill chose Inland Empire

We stayed in this wonderful area on a yearly basis as children with our parents, so what better place to share with our children as they grow-up. A 'safe' and cherished community in the San Bernardino mountains.

What makes this cabin unique

Private, secluded, safe and wonderful mountain community for family and children to be able to explore all year round. Our cabin is the last on our street - 100 miles of National Forest out our back door.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello Bill - just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your cabin at Green Valley Lake. We so enjoyed the quiet and cool temperatures and some great hikes. A few in our party hiked to the top of the hill on Tuesday night and watched the meteor shower - it was great :-) We will definitely keep your place in mind when we are planning in the future.

Cozy, spotless, secluded cabin in Green Valley Lak

  • 5 of 5

What a delight this cabin was! Right on the edge of the National Forest, with sledding hills right in the backyard. Green Valley Lake is "off the beaten path", with just one tiny general store and one or two local cafes. (We brought all of our food, so we didn't eat out at all). We could go out and play in the snow with the kids, then run inside for meals, bathroom trips, or to warm up little toes. We loved all of the wood and the stone fireplace. The hot tub was a bit hit, especially for our 2 and 5 year old. Everything was spotless and in good working order. Nothing luxurious, but tastefully done and very cozy. The owner is thorough in providing helpful information, house rules, etc. ahead of time. They like to keep their home neat and ask that visitors respect a "shoes off" policy, something not hard for us, as we do this at our home, too.

One caveat, the 2nd upstairs bedroom is a loft and there is no door: This meant for very early mornings for my sister and brother-in-law, as the kids woke up early each day and the sound travels a bit in upstairs.

We would definitely consider staying here again. Great spot for a family trip or a romantic getaway.

Cozy and comfortable house. Great weekend getway!

  • 4 of 5

The house was great! Plenty of room for my family with 4 children. Very accommodating for babies with gates on all the stair access points, a high chair, booster seats, and even a pack n play! While it is the last house on the street it is not secluded. There are houses on 3 sides with no great place to sit and view the wilderness and nothing else from the house itself. The hiking right out of the house is amazing. There are tons of trails going in so many directions. The views just 2 minutes from the house are literally unbelievable. The house had more than enough stuff to make our stay quite comfortable. They did not have dish soap, body soap, or garbage bags. I think that was just an oversight. The general store is only a 5 minute drive away.

Owner's Response: We're glad you had a wonderful family weekend away at our home. As we rely on our caretaker, it seems that a few items-(bath soap, dish soap & trash bags) were not appropriately left for our guest. It was also mentioned there was a lack of outdoor furniture, which is confusing, as we have amp[le deck furniture for outside seating. We appreciate this feedback, as it allows for improved management/discussions with our caretaker and cleaning crews to ensure everything is in order for each guest. Thank you.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great weekend get away, and a great landlord! We had a small issue with hot water heater and the owner was able to have someone there to fix it within minutes. If I ever head to Big Bear again, I won't have need to look for a place to stay.

Great House in Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Very nice home, clean, spacious and comfortable. Made for an enjoyable and memorable family vacation. Close enough to Big Bear Lake but far enough to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Green Valley Lake location. Beds are extremely comfortable and hot tub was enjoyable and peaceful as the mountain evening began to cool down. Lots of trees and butts right up to the national forest. Excess parking at Green Valley Lake is very convenient if you need it. Would recommend for winter or summer vacation if you are looking for a clean cozy home in a quiet and peaceful location.

Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Exactly what my family was looking for. Cozy for quality time with the family. Pleasantly surprised at how kid friendly the place was with gated stairs, high chair, pack and play, bed railings for the bunk beds. This made for a much more relaxing place with a toddler! My family also commented that they enjoyed the decor saying it was much better quality that other places we've tried and felt more like a real home away from home. The hiking was just out the back door and had beautiful views. Quaint small town, not over crowded like the other major towns. The cabin was clean and well stocked with the essentials I always seem to forget. The owners were friendly and answered all if my many questions. Would definitely recommend and plan on returning in the future!

Warm Cozy Cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! It is warm, cozy and the perfect home away from home! We enjoyed walking in the forest and sledding on the snow filled hills all around the cabin. We spent our Thanksgiving holiday there and had everything we needed to pull off Thanksgiving dinner with our family. Having the extra parking at the lake has perfect for us since we had family coming up for dinner. Green Valley Lake is a charming little town with very friendly people. The General Store was visited daily. The owners of the cabin are very friendly and helpful and a joy to work with in planning your vacation to their cabin. We would love to visit again real soon.
