Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
It was a quiet and comfortable 1 bedroom unit, with a great little kitchen and a working fireplace. The only drawback to this one is the lack of a view.
Unfortunately, the layout of this suite is next door to the staff quarters. The bedroom has extremely thin walls and the staff is constantly screaming down the hallway having conversations. There were huge towel bins often in front of our door for extended periods. If you want to sleep past 4AM, then this unit is not for you. Between the constant rolling and delivery of supplies, it was not as restful as we would have liked. I'm sure any other unit far away from 255 would be much more desirable.
We have stayed at the Resort at Squaw Creek numerous times. The location is perfect for ski in and out. The resort is beautiful with so much to do in winter activities....from sledding to snow shoeing, cross country skiing. The restaurants are great with good service. It is a family friendly resort, but great for couples too. I have rented via the hotel and vrbo. This unit was fine- nice furnishings and the elevator noise was not an issue for us. My only complaint is the cleaning service didn't do a great job before we arrived and many items were missing such at dish towels, 1 robe, extra toilet paper (we had half a roll only), we had half a package of dishwasher soap as well. When you call the hotel they don't want to help b/c they don't manage this property so that is a bit frustrating. Overall we'd stay here again.
Prior reviews commented on the elevator by the room- I didn't find this to be a big noise issue and we had two small kids. The cleaning fee is high however and I don't feel the place was very clean upon our arrival and many items were missing (see above). Vacasa should work on their cleaning hires.
This unit is right next to the service elevator which is so loud it shakes the entire bedroom
We didn't have a real ski-in/ski-out experience. After a hard day of
skiing, you want to ski back to the hotel and leave your skis in the
locker room before heading back to your room. Squaw Creek does have
such a locker room, right by the ski trail. But the Vacasa rental did
not allow us to use it. Our room key gave access to the locker room,
but there are numbered lockers, with combination locks, and we didn't
have access to those. So we had to carry our skis back and forth to
our room each time. This involves several flights of stairs, and then
a long walk along a corridor, as room 255 is rather far from the
Among the units at Squaw Creek, 255 is okay, but somewhat basic, with
no view, and rather far from the elevator, laundry, ski trails, etc.
The resort, and Squaw Valley in general, is very nice.
We contacted both the hotel and Vacasa about our non-functional carbon
monoxide detector. The hotel said to contact Vacasa. We emailed
Vacasa, but got no response. Then we spoke to somebody at Vacasa by
phone, who said an URGENT ticket would be submitted. But nothing
happened about it throughout our one-week stay.
