Craig Lovell purchased this House in 2000
Why Craig Lovell chose Colonia San Antonio
Devi fell in love with the creative people of San Miguel. Her love of architecture and art came alive when she visited the historic town and she decided to make San Miguel a permanent part of her life. She transformed Casa Guadalupe into two wonderful homes using her creative flare and the culture of Mexico in the design.
What makes this House unique
This property has a great location just a few blocks from Ancha San Antonio and a short walk to the Jardin (central square), The Instituto and Juarez Park. It is far enough away to be quieter and away from the traffic but walking distance to the entire historical district. The rooftop garden offers privacy and spectacular views. Renting both casitas provides both privacy and close proximity to friends or family. For less than the price of most hotel rooms in town you have the benefit of your own casita complete with kitchen.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Comfy, clean, colorful, convenient!
We just spent six weeks in this lovely accommodation. Domi, the manager, and Martha, the maid, took very good care of us during our stay. This attractive casita’s infrastructure is basic but very functional; the bed is comfortable, the bathroom which is separated by just a partition from the bedroom, has a great shower, and the kitchen is equipped for basic meal preparation. We spent a lot of time up on the shared rooftop where there’s comfortable seating and lovely views. The only negative of Casita 1 is that sunlight has a hard time finding its way down to ground level. The resulting coolness would be an advantage in sultry summer, but not in winter, for sure. Casita 2, upstairs, is much brighter.
Central location is the most outstanding feature. If fact, any spot in Centro is a short, basically level walk away, and the Instituto Allende is practically around the corner.
Charming house with a great view
Guadalupe 1/2 have a lot to offer, the upper and lower houses have kitchens. They both have patios to enjoy the outside. The upper one has a patio facing the city. Both have access to a rooftop terrace that is quite spacious and has a great view of downtown. The tile in the downstairs can get cold. The space heaters they provided were running most of the time to provide enough warmth. The beds were nice. The lower apartment where I stayed had two nice beds.. double or queen. They were more than comfortable and im used to a queen. The only downside to these houses is that the bathrooms are not really rooms. They are separated by a wall that doesnt reach the ceiling and a curtain instead of a door. We stayed with another couple in the lower apartment where one bed upstairs was in the same room as the one downstairs.. obviously going to the bathroom was not as private as an experience as one might hope for. I would recommend that room for a family of 4 or something like that. The upper apartment has 2 bed/2 bath so that is not an issue there. Overall the stay was plesant.. the house is well equipped for living there and cooking/dining.. etc.. We had a blast at 'The Casitas'.
Lovely, charming, clean, good location, nice cleaning staff, lovely rooftop with great view.
Only negative is that there is not a full wall between the bedroom and the bathroom, so if you are a light sleeper, you can hear people showering in the morning.
Thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Guadalupe. To clarify the Mexican style bathroom as you say does not go all the way to the ceiling but is above head level for complete visual privacy. Do come again!
Beautiful and Fantastic Apartment very Conveniently Located!
We could not be happier with this truly delightful, authentically decorated, and perfect apartment - it is in a lovely quiet neighborhood, great for a couple, single person, or possibly a couple with one child - at least for the upstairs apartment that we stayed in. The kitchen is a great size to cook in, the views from the top deck and even second floor are AMAZING... and Domi... the caretaker is so kind! It is in walking distance to plenty! Pending your walking speed - 5 to 10 minutes to lots of cafes, shopping, etc. ...10 to 15 minutes to Rosewood Hotel, the Jardin, and the town Park for running, walking, or just relaxing. I would stay here over and over - we never ran out of hot water, the master bedroom bed is super comfy - I honestly could live here. Also, to my personal delight, it is a 5 to 10 minute walk from a FANTASTIC yoga studio (Esenvia Yoga)...! It is extremely clean, safe, and peaceful. Honestly, I don't think the photos on this website do it justice - I simply can't say enough about how lovely this place is and from what I could see, the bottom apartment looks just as inviting. I recommend this apartment fully for short and long stays be it for vacation or business--internet works great. I look forward to my next visit which I hope is much sooner than later.
I am so glad that you loved the casita and enjoyed your stay. I hope you can come back and enjoy the property again!
Property in good shape, has no tv, clean up lady did not replaced towels.
Sorry we had no TV when you were there. The television broke and has now been replaced with a new smart TV.
Charming apartment in a beautiful town
Very charming apartment, great location (walking distance to the Center and many restaurants, bars etc.). The communication and coordination was great as well. Highly recommended!
We are located in the happening neighborhood of San Antonio a few blocks from the Instituto de Allende just off of Orizaba. It is a great neighborhood with restaurants shops, grocery stores, and other services located on Ancha San Antonio two blocks away. It is near the fancy new Rosewood Hotel and only a 15 minute walk to the central square and cathedral known as the Jardin. We are located in the old historical part of the town and it is easy to walk everywhere although taxis are easily available and are very safe.
