Welcome to Lucy's Mountain Retreat!

This cozy log style cabin is the right mix of rustic charm with modern conveniences. With 2 bedrooms, 1 newly remodeled bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, dining room, large living room with a 42' LED TV, two fireplaces, and large backyard deck, this is the perfect cabin for a get away with family or close friends. Being on the same street and one block away from the popular Holloways Marina, makes it a great location for those visiting the lake in the summer time with boats, personal water craft, canoes, kayaks and other water sports. The driveway is extra long to allow for boat parking. In the winter time, the cabin is located less than 2 miles from Snow Summit, Southern California's best Ski Resort. Approximately 1/2 mile from the Alpine Slide and snow park. Once you arrive at Lucy's Mountain Retreat, you won't want to leave!

Cute little cabin near the lake

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly as advertised, and was a lovely romantic place for my husband and I to spend our first anniversary. It would also be great for a family with kids, or even 2 couples as long as one couple doesn't mind sleeping on the bottom bunk. It's convenient for that because the bathroom is connected to both bedrooms, and might even be a fair trade off because the bunk bed room has a TV but the other room does not.

It's walking distance to a few restaurants, and the marina where you can rent boats and other water toys. Just over a mile to the village so you could even walk there if you really wanted to.

Steve and Jeana are great, we only had one tiny issue (with ants, very normal in the mountains in the summer), and they responded instantly to my text (and the ant poison solved our problem instantly, and we had no more problems for the rest of the trip).

Beautiful Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here before just as a couple for a romantic weekend, but this time we came back with our three kids (ages 8, 6, and 3). The kids loved it. There's a triple bunk bed perfect for them (a twin bed on top, a double on the bottom) and plenty of toys and games, plus a big backyard. We spent the days biking, swimming, and canoeing. We'll definitely come back, but with the kids and without

Came to big Bear for snowboarding. Was a great cabin close to the village and close to mountains.

  • 5 of 5

Was a nice cabin. Hot tub was aresome. Spacious place that sleeps 6 comfortably. Has everything you'd need. Only downfall is you can hear people in living room because thereally really isn't a door in master bedroom.

Perfect for a little family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I don't think the pictures did this sweet cabin justice. My husband and I brought our two young boys here for a weekend and it was absolutely perfect for us. The "kid" room was complete with bunk beds, toys and games that kept our little guys entertained after playing in the snow! The linens and bedding were just what we needed and most importantly, the heater worked great! Everything was easy to work and the owner answered a question extremely quickly (although my husband did find it in the manual so we could have saved him the trouble, oops!). Will definitely keep this cabin in mind for future trips to Big Bear.

Wonderful stay with minor imperfections

  • 4 of 5

This is one of the best cabin's Ive ever stayed in. It is spacious and well designed (floor plan).

Things that stood out:

- Good floor plan.

- Good heater (kept the entire place nice an cozy when it was below freezing outside).

- Good furniture/decor (most places bring in old and beat up stuff, but this cabin had some excellent pieces, including the two reclining leather chairs that are very comfortable. There was no needless decor everywhere like old toys/decorations, it felt modern.

- Good TV. Again, most places will put up an old CRT TV while this cabin had a great TV.

- Good Internet speeds (wifi)

- Netflix (and other apps like Youtube through the smart TV).

- Lots of toys for the kids

- High-chair for babies (a great wooden one too).

- Large backyard

- Good Jacuzzi, its a 4 person but it wouldnt be comfortable. Id go in with no more than 3.

- 2 fireplaces, living room and master bedroom.

- Table in the back yard and lounging chairs (not very useful in winter but could be a place to eat/relax in the summer).

- Owner is very responsive (texted back within minutes, very impressive!).

Things that could have been better:

- The cabin had a fairly strong smoke smell. As if someone closed the fireplace flue and lit it up. Not sure if we just got used to it or it dissipated over the days we were there. We ended up not using the fireplace at all.

- Would be good if owner provided firewood for the fireplace even if it was if you use it there is a fee.

- Gas BBQ had no gas and Charcoal is not provided for the Charcoal one. So we were unable to BBQ (we were hoping to use the gas one so didnt bring Charcoal). The fireplace/charcoal lighter did not work either. Would be good if owner provided matches as backup in one of the kitchen drawer's.

- Kid's bedroom (bunk bed one). Didnt have any drawer room for clothes, all drawers in the dresser were filled with toys to the brim.

- Some things could have been cleaner when we arrived. The place mats on the dining room table had food stains, and the rug in the living room looked dirty.

- We had an issue with Carbon Monoxide detector chirping in the middle of the night every 15 to 30 minutes (whats weird is that it wouldnt do that during the day). Not sure if its due to the smoke I mentioned earlier plus C02 emitted by people sleeping in the room, but we had to unplug it because it would keep whoever slept there up all night.

Overall these are minor minuses and we will definitely book this cabin again!

Great cozy Cabin fit our need perfectly

Perfext Cabin for the kids first time in the snow

My family and I had a fabulous time at the Cabin. We are originally from the East Coast but have lived in Southern California for almost 10 years. My kids 11& 6 have never seen or been around snow before (at least that they can remember). This Cabin was perfect for us. Steve was very quick to answer any questions I had. The cabin was nice and cozy and had everything we needed. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub out in the snow and making a few snow hills in the back yard to sled down. We went for a few nice walks down by the lake. We will definitely book here again when we want to go back to Big Bear.
