Me and my wife are French, we are happy to offer our lovely villa in Moorea.
Jacques et Chantal Boutemy purchased this villa in 2005
We love wood house, and we discover Moorea 10 years and found this nice spot on the beach and decide to order from Bali this teak house design by famous architect in France.
We choose this land because of the water color and deep lagoon in front of our house, very good diving and snorkeling spot.
Our Beach is protected by the reef.
The only access to the beach is from the residence.
This was so much better than advertised! I cannot begin to describe how beautiful the house is and how breath taking the sunrises and sunsets are. We went snorkeling and kayaking every day (equipment provided). We were there for 2 weeks and since rental cars are fairly expensive we decided to rent one for 3 days one week and then did it again the next week. On the days we had the car we toured the island, went scuba diving, took in a native Polynesian dinner and show, visited beaches, swam with sharks and rays, went shopping and out to eat. On the days we did not have the car, we hung out at the house and enjoyed the spectacular views in any direction. You can do as much or as little as you like and that was exactly what we wanted. Eric, the caretaker, is a terrific guy. He was there for anything we needed. This was one of those once in a lifetime trips for us but if there is anyway we could go back, I would in a heartbeat.
The home is beautiful in a quiet gated community, with view of the beach and easy access. Eric greets you with leis made by his wife at the airport if you wish to pay a small amount for transfer this is worth it. Use of the car is a good deal far less than a rental company, we used it every day. when we arrived to the villa fresh flowers were placed all over the home with a fresh fruit basket, made us feel welcome. Eric went over how to use everything in the home along with a book put together on contact information and things to do on the island. A phone is provided in the home along with purified water. There is a Jacuzzi tub on the deck however we did not use it and keep ourselves busy with things to do around the island. Take the boat ride with Eric it's an unforgettable experience, he spend more time with you than the tour companies. It is also private, bring snorkel with you to see the sharks, rays and water life.
Eric was available for every need, if you are wanting a resort life don't chose a vacation rental. we enjoyed cooking our meals to our liking and eating when we pleased. The privacy was great, neighbors were pleasant, and view is outstanding. The home is well taken care of, we don't mind a few mosquitos, and geckos. This is an island full of vegetation with very high humidity and very beautiful. I do advise all who wish to visit to change currency to French Frank as the locals will take more than you owe so beware. If your looking for a nice place to stay on Moorea I recommend this villa highly.
Just as advertised, excellent, comfortable, beautiful property. Eric is an excellent host. We had a lovely, relaxing time. Would absolutely stay here again.
This house is exactly as advertised..comfortable, nice little beach and a great view. A car is required but that is true of most of the islands and the Range Rover is a great deal. Eric who will meet you at the airport is a great representative. He is very knowledgeable about the island and ask about his private 1/2 day boat trip with the ray feeding..a true highlight.
Contacted the owner in Jan,2014. Home was advertised 2 x bdrms with A/C. I have several printouts. Owner assured me No need for A/C. On home tour w/Eric and we were immediately bitten by mosquitoes. Request for the A/C to the b/rms(house does have them) was refused. Renters DO NOT RENT A HOME IN FP W/O A/C. If it is so cool, and breezy why put in the A/C to begin with. Owners use only? There were no fans in the living, dining, kitchen and entry walkway. We opened the entire house to the frame, all we got was heat, humidity and mosquitoes and the fans did nothing. I paid good money to rent this house for 3 weeks. On arrival Only 1 bedroom was made up. We made up the 2nd. For 3 weeks we were given 1 set of sheets, I bath towel and I smelly beach towel all mismatched. Wash machine (fit 1 towel per load) located in the hot smelly garage. Wire strung off the rafters to dry stuff. The "POOL" is a 6'x 3' tub,no cover, a breeding ground for mosquito larvae . Recliners w/ moldy and torn pads. 2x chintzy floor fans were worthless." Gated Community" is a joke. Best have a car as the gate will not open for pedestrians, side gate is chained. Be aware, anyone with a boat, jet-ski, paddleboard can use the front of the property till the high-water level. Don't be surprised to find a local family picnicking, drinking, partying in the front of the property. The house has a "wire-trip" alarm that goes off at random 3xtimes one night and 1 other time. The victim in the 2nd bdrm is blasted out of bed as the alarm is set there. WE chopped back(2 women) palm branches to prevent false alarms. The house is set back on the property, neighbors homes and trees block any winds. The back deck is covered with dead leaves/ flowers blocking any drainage of water, another breeding ground for mosquitoes. The claim that it is "wheel-chair accessible" is false and dangerous. It is a 2' wide x 40o pitch "rail less" ramp. Housekeeping was never seen for 9 days. The TV, Satellite, DVD did not work. The "Bose" box is of the 18th century. The "hot only" water dispenser tasted out of the faucet .Fruit left on kitchen counter gets eaten by a coconut rat. Kitchen was adequate. For a few more dollars one is better off at the Intercontinental, 1 mile away. No mosquitoes, clean sheets cold A/C. Safer and healthier.Check legality of any trips offered. Walked out after 8 days, Paid for 19. What is advertised is not what you will get. I have travelled to FP since 1979.
Very relaxing and enjoyable stay for a week in Moorea. House is at water's edge: easy to go swimming kayaking etc. Stunning scenery.
Kitchen very well appointed-coffee machine dishwasher plus stove, fridge etc.
Can walk to village shop (300 metres) to get baguette in the morning.
You probably need a car as all restaurants are just a little bit too far away to walk.
Eric, the Property Manager, very helpful and I strongly recommend his boat trip around the lagoon. His English is very good.
Excellent break away from it all
