Description

Garden District House Rental Photos and Description

2 bed, 1 bath sleeps 4

Quiet house close to downtown CDA and the Lake Coeur d Alene. We have a comfortable 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom home in the Garden District. The main level is about 1400 square feet with a privacy fence for relaxing & grilling in the backyard. There is secured basement storage for athletes with equipment for Ironman. Our home is located about 1 mile from the finish line.

Our home is close enough for an easy walk to dine downtown & enjoy the nightlife, but far enough for a very restful night's sleep.

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed

The location and property were ideal. I loved the the charm and decor of the house.

It was a perfect location for the Ironman event. You can easily walk to downtown. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook. The open concept of the living room, dining and kitchen are perfect. I gave 3 stars because the living room furniture is very uncomfortable and the bedding is cheap. I slept fine on the mattress but my husband thought it was terrible. The most comfortable furniture was on the front porch. The house is in need of deep cleaning. Unfortunately the city was redoing sewer lines and it was impossible to sit outside (not the fault of the home owner). Overall, it's a really cute house and we enjoyed our stay. I would gladly return if this things were corrected.

Owner's Response: Hi Anita, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you found the bed to be uncomfortable. It is a very firm Tempur-Pedic, perhaps not for everyone. Regarding a deep cleaning, this was accomplished. My husband & I personally scrubbed walls & floors on our hands and knees, as we do prior to every rental. The home is approximately 80 years old perhaps that is part of the challenge as it has original floors & walls nicely maintained over the years but are not brand new. In any case, we are glad you enjoyed your time in our town. Thank you, Laura

beautiful!

The house was just perfect for the three of us. The big tub and modern, well stocked kitchen felt very luxurious. The beds were very comfortable. Overall a GREAT value. We had family in CDA but enjoyed the nearby waterfront. The owners gave good recommendations and instructions for the home (having rented a lot of houses, this is not always the case). We had an older travel companion, so the front entrance was a bit rough, especially in the snow, but we dropped her off in alley behind house and that worked well.

Much more than I expected!

The online pictures of this rental do not do it justice. It's a wonderful, comfortable craftsman style home with a completely remodeled kitchen. It was great! My two nieces and I stayed here for four nights while in the area for a wedding. Nearly everything we needed was available - for example, there were some pens, paper, a Halloween candy drawer (!), cloth napkins, coffee, spices, and some staples such as rice and popcorn. We just had to purchase our main meal items, and that was fantastic for us, as we had traveled by plane with carry-on luggage only. There was laundry soap and shampoo as well. For coffee-making, the options were a standard drip coffee maker or a very large french press. The location was as described, walkable to many places, and the house was very clean. We did park in the carport in back some of the nights. We felt very safe in this beautiful neighborhood. The owner was very helpful in answering all questions before we arrived. I would happily recommend this rental to a friend or relative.

The house is an easy 10 minute walk to Sherman Avenue, the Coeur d Alene Resort, and the lake. There are many great restaurants within walking distance on Sherman Avenue, as well as many great watering holes. Tubbs Hill is within walking distance from the house and is always a beautiful walk when in Coeur D Alene.
